  1. My mother told me about this story today. At first I thought that it was Tui. It sounds like Nigel has had an interesting four year adventure that only he could tell.
  2. My mother just told me that a man in CA. found his pet african grey after several years of being missing. She said that the parrot spoke with a British accent but now also speaks spanish. She was identified by a microchip. Would this be Andrews Tui? Has anyone heard anything about it?
  3. When I purchased my grey baby and went to see her for the first time at eight weeks she was very suspicious of me. Honestly, she only started really liking me a couple of days after I brought her home. Now she's on me every chance she gets and flies around the house looking for me sometimes. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
  4. A similar thing happened to a kitten of mine years ago. He got his foot stuck in the same way. I ran over to rescue him and I think he swore up and down that I did that to him.
  5. Welcome to Albert. Who wouldn't like the nice lady with the fries?
  6. Happy Anniversary to you. This post was fun to read and it sounds like Inara is having the time of her life with you.
  7. I agree with you. At my house I have a pretty good filter. One of my things in my head is being suspicious of things that are consumed, I'm always thinking about what's in or on it. Years ago, one time when I went to visit my mom in Minnesota and then my niece in Wisconsin I drank from both of their wells all week. When I came home and turned the faucet on (city water) it smelled like poison to me. From then on I used a good house water filter.
  8. I think that the only way to know that is to have your well water tested as they are all different. If you are drinking it with no problems then it should be ok. If you use a good water filter there should be no worries. My house has city water but I have an artesian well in the yard. Personally I would not use it for my birds because it has a lot of sulfur and tested for ammonia.
  9. My girl is just going on 20 weeks and she is finally starting to be more sure footed. She was pretty clumsy when I brought her home at 16 weeks. The cage was pretty new to her when she first came home so I don't know if it was related to that or if she was just still in her clumsy stage. I'm sure your Maggie will find her groove just fine.
  10. Nice job on the toys, they look great. You are inspiring me to create my own now, thanks.
  11. That is quite alright with me. I think that a touch of selfishness is a healthy thing.
  12. Uh oh, I was just watching this video again and heard a little noise behind me only to realize that my goffins too was watching.
  13. Thanks Nancy, today she has already decided that I'm ok again. I certainly won't let that happen again if I can help it. It might not be so easy next time. I'm surprised she was so forgiving, I guess that's the baby in her. As far as landing on those chimes, I think I will just let her stay in the discomfort and figure out how to get out of it on her own.
  14. Poet is a little off still but nothing to drastic. I think the trust in me came down a couple of notches. She's eating and moving around fine though. The vet checked her and didn't see anything out of sorts as far as from the fall. I felt so bad when she fell, it must have hurt.
  15. I have one of those little bird brains, they're a trip. Very smart at figuring out how to get what they want.
