Hello and welcome Carl and Chico! Not getting a blood drawing bite there is a miracle I'd say! Chico's pickiness is also not unusual in the grey world, at least from my experience and my reading on the forum here. Good luck and God bless
Here's a link to the toy. http://www.amazon.com/Jungle-Talk-Play-Phone-Large/dp/B000UJURY0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1356549941&sr=8-2&keywords=bird+talk+and+play
Aerial, the tripod idea is a good one if I had a tripod. All I have is a cheap point and shoot and my phone camera.
I'll try to get a pic of him actually using it. Every time I approach with the camera though Timber goes into "frozen bird" status so we'll see! I didn't really know if he would like it or not. I have a lot of toys I bought in the "no go" box already. I was really surprised at the way he took to it. Different strokes indeed! Kave, several reviewers had the same reaction as Sam.
Timber got a talk'n'play for Christmas. He is often iffy about new toys so I thought it would be a long time before he would mess with it. Wrong! He loves it. It is past his bedtime and he is in there punching the buttons in the dark. You just never know!
Every night I play rockband III on xbox (bass) for about an hour. I take Timber into the living room with me and put him on his playstand. He watches, whistles and chirps while I play. He know after this comes cuddle time. Hopefully he enjoys it!
Hello and welcome Cinny and Radar You are right. It takes them a while to warm up to things. Timber sometimes take weeks to warm up to a new toy. Everything in grey time!
LOL to the whistling. One wonders what a grey would see as attractive in a woman! Timber seems to favor rock songs that have teeth vibrating bass. No, wait, that's me!
I don't remember what my mom got anyway, just that one of my jobs was to put the stamps in the book. Ha. Zoe, I don't know anything about Button Moon, but I never really watched a lot of TV so don't know if the show aired in the states or not!
Interesting about the dog Jeff. I have cats. While Timber and the cats don't interact (except him trying to grab their tails when they pass under his cage), he seems to take a keen interest in their activities and antics. He also whistles to them and talks to them sometimes. It seems to me that while he doesn't see them as companions, he sees them as entertainment!
Congratuations! I'd love to know Timber's gender (for sure). I checked out the site one of the other members recommended but decided not to go ahead. I'm planning to talk to the vet about it on our next visit, which will be soon.
LOL It would scare me too! Hubby gets up really early and tries not to disturb the rest of the household when he leaves for work (3:30 AM). He doesn't turn any lights on downstairs. He said he about jumped out of his skin the first time Timber said "goodbye" as he was walking out the door.
Yes, they always often wait until you are around the corner or out of the room to say something. That's one of the reason I got the birdie cam, so I could her Timber talk!
