  1. LOL Yes, they do! I have allergies so apparently I sniff a lot. I didn't really realize it until Timber brought it to my attention by doing it all the time!
  2. I have an hour from 5:30 to 6:30 AM with Timber. My husband gets home at 2 PM but doesn't let him out of the cage since he isn't able to watch him (he cleans house thank you Lord) but he is in the house and interacting vocally with him. I get home by 4:30 PM and then he is out until about 8 PM. On weekends, he usually has 6 to 10 hours out of cage with me each day. Not ideal, but you do what you can and he seems OK with it.
  3. I'm gone a lot too, and I wonder if Timber would like company (other than the cats). Then I think about how I feel I don't give him enough time as it is... and the brain goes round and round!
  4. LOL to the Droid! I use a different notification tone so Timber never hears that. I suspect he's like it if he did though.
  5. You should put that camera to use and enter the contest!
  6. She's beautiful! How are the other greys reacting? I have to say I'm in the middle of a near-miss (I think). There is a CAG for rehome about 20 miles from me and I'm fighting myself to keep from going to take a look.
  7. And don't forget the green stamps!
  8. I have to say I just had a terrible thought... I was wondering what Lulu will do if Java learns all those "interesting" vocalizations Gilbert is doing? Naaaaa...
  9. This isn't really special in the cognition department, but it was kind of funny. My husband has been trying to get Timber to "take" to him since we brought him home. He spends a lot of time "playing" with him, which I'm not sure Timber doesn't see as aggravation. Sometimes he seems to enjoy it (you know how they love attention) other times he seems annoyed. At any rate, hubby was putting his hand on the cage on one side then moving it to another area. Timber will run and grab the cage bars with his beak then run to the next location where his hand is. Believe it or not, he seems to think this is a game and enjoys it. At any rate, he tripped a bit on a toy in the bottom of the cage and missed. Hubby laughed, Timber said "asshole." Ha. That isn't a word he got from us, but apparently one he knows to use appropriately!
  10. Timber won't step up on my fingers, always on my forearm. Like you, I can't say "step up" for reasons I don't know but something in his past I'm sure, which is probably why he won't have anything to do with stepping up on my hand. I say "wanna go" and that works for us.
  11. Neat pic! Timber will do that too. Sometimes I wonder how long he would REALLY sit there. My hand gets tired!
  12. Good for Jake! Timber is holding at about 276, which I am going to assume is his "normal" weight.
  13. Those old TV's were built to last. I live in a house built in 1915, so I know exactly what you mean. Gotta love the floors and the woodwork though! You can still see the knobs from the old wiring all over the attic. Yes, I remember all the McDonald's characters. Anyone still have their 8-tracks and 8-track player?
  14. That sounds just awful! Sure glad everyone is OK.
  15. LOL People who didn't live before the first game systems would never understand the appeal of pong... on a black and white tv no less!
  16. LOL to the "give blood today!" Been there, done that. That is definitely a don't mess with the cookie stink eye in the pic!
  17. Yes he is and you are blessed that he loves the camera. I've tried to video Timber several times and it is like he knows what I'm doing. He turns his back or clams up!
  18. That's great news, thanks for sharing!
  19. One up on ya Dawl... remember Pong??
  20. I'll bet Pippin was terrified. She will be a different bird in a few days. There is nothing like having a grey though... enjoy the ride!
  21. Loved it! What a sweetheart
