There are numerous posts about chop. Just do a search. Here is one to get you started: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?196941-Chop&highlight=chop
Timber will eat a bit of broccoli and he likes the fresh pea pods. He strips the pod and just eats the little peas inside, but he does eat a bit. He also will pick at a fresh artichoke if it is on his skewer. I'm assuming you have read the threads about chop?
I use Chrome and have the same problem from time to time. I always copy my posts "just in case" then reload. Most of the time I can submit the next time. I was using Firefox prior to that and didn't have the problem nearly as much. Firefox was down to a crawl (like explorer) and I switched to Chrome.
I tripped across this surfing. Being a newbie and having had no interaction with young birds as some of you have, I thought it was fascinating. It shows a CAG from hatch to older (probably age of sale). I'm not saying anything about the conditions or treatment because I know nothing. Just thought other newbies might want to see the pictures!

Sorry to hear about Pete. The older I get, the more I realize that there does come a "time to go" for birds/animals and people! Never easy even when it is time though... God bless.
When Timber was "mad" at me recently over a nail trimming at the vets, he did the same thing. He didn't want to step up, didn't want scratching or any contact with me, but as soon as I was out of the room he would whistle and talk until I got back in the room. then he would go back into "bird of stone" mode. They are fascinating and vexing!
I can understand about the name. If Timber hadn't known his name when he came to us, he would think it was "That Bird" because of my husband's kidding! I leave the tv on animal planet for Timber while I am at work. I also make sure he has a forage box in the bottom of his cage, a treat in his hanging forage ball, and the standard array of toys. I'm pretty new myself. I'm sure others will chime in with suggestions.
So glad you were able to get him to an avian vet. Just knowing what is going on with them is a relief. Now that you know, you can move toward making him as healthy as he can be! Good job.
LOL Too true! I didn't order the sunshine factor. I wanted to try their birdie bread because Timber doesn't eat what I'm making very well. I will wait until the red palm oil I did order comes in to use it in the bread, which I thought was a good idea since it only uses a tablespoon. Not sure what he will think of the taste of the red palm oil yet, so I don't want to use too much too fast.
I guess I just haven't had him long enough to be up to speed. He's been mad before, like when I won't let him get on the floor, but he took this to a whole new level. Thankfully, he is acting much like his old self now.
Timber has a pattern with new things. First there is fear, then the ignore stage, then curiosity, then acceptance. It may take a few weeks (or maybe not) before she shows an interest, but I'm betting she will!
