  1. Hello and welcome Cinny and Radar You are right. It takes them a while to warm up to things. Timber sometimes take weeks to warm up to a new toy. Everything in grey time!
  2. And the same to you Ray!
  3. LOL to the whistling. One wonders what a grey would see as attractive in a woman! Timber seems to favor rock songs that have teeth vibrating bass. No, wait, that's me!
  4. Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to all
  5. Yes, my thoughts too. I have no experience with two birds, but have read here many times that a bird needs his/her own cage.
  6. I don't remember what my mom got anyway, just that one of my jobs was to put the stamps in the book. Ha. Zoe, I don't know anything about Button Moon, but I never really watched a lot of TV so don't know if the show aired in the states or not!
  7. Interesting about the dog Jeff. I have cats. While Timber and the cats don't interact (except him trying to grab their tails when they pass under his cage), he seems to take a keen interest in their activities and antics. He also whistles to them and talks to them sometimes. It seems to me that while he doesn't see them as companions, he sees them as entertainment!
  8. Timber reacts to some rock songs and to kid-type songs (like twinkle, twinkle little star). To each their own indeed!
  9. Jellybean will say the words just like he hears them, so it will be with the accent of the person he is learning from. No worries though!
  10. Oh... so sorry for your loss!
  11. Hello and welcome featherfluff! I have a feeling that it won't be long before you bite the bullet and get a grey.
  12. Congratuations! I'd love to know Timber's gender (for sure). I checked out the site one of the other members recommended but decided not to go ahead. I'm planning to talk to the vet about it on our next visit, which will be soon.
  13. LOL It would scare me too! Hubby gets up really early and tries not to disturb the rest of the household when he leaves for work (3:30 AM). He doesn't turn any lights on downstairs. He said he about jumped out of his skin the first time Timber said "goodbye" as he was walking out the door.
  14. Yes, they always often wait until you are around the corner or out of the room to say something. That's one of the reason I got the birdie cam, so I could her Timber talk!
  15. Timber seems to have a horrified fascination with the tree. He cocks his head and stares fixedly at it for several minutes at a time. We walk close to it (he's on my arm) all the time and it doesn't freak him out, but if I get too close he starts going up to my shoulder so I'm not worried about him wanting to perch in it any time soon.
  16. They are so funny with their eating patterns. Yesterday, Timber seemed to eat very little. This morning, I've been watching him eat for nearly an hour it seems.
  17. Well, you have to laugh! While you yell "duck Bubba duck!" He's probably thinking "that's not what I said you idiot, clean you ears!"
  18. LOLOL The neighbors are probably wishing the end of the world came every week!
  19. Poor Luna! I wonder if she will probably still want to sleep on your chest even after the splint comes off.
  20. Cool video! Thanks for posting
