yep I'am getting really attached to him , we spend lots of one on one time together

I took Smokey to my girlfriends today and we did the dna test on him , I was amazed how good he was , not a growl or a bad word lol he just chewed on the towel a little bit and never made a sound , when I unwrapped him from the towel he was fine , he went right to her and was making his mumble noises and said hello he even does kissey noises now so I should know something by next thursday or Friday it usually takes 7 or 8 days boy or girl doesn't matter to me as long as he is healthy

true true and true , I'am sooooo glad we Adopted Smokey , he definitly has some bad habits but together we are working on those but he can be really sweet , he lets me scratch his head from side to side and gently rub around his eyes , I can tell he likes it he closes his eyes and just relaxes , and he loves attention , things are going good he is not at all like he was 32 days ago when we first met

I feel like I'am the only one with a plucked parrot here so am wondering how many others are dealing with this issue and what are your methods in trying to stop this

ty that's was great to read but very sad m reminds me of Smokeys other 2 homes I think the first one he was mistreated and the second one they just didn't have time for him , so this is his last home

ok so the feather Terrific and the Rain Mist would be good to spray on him and what about some Aloe Vera in the winter time? or could I use all 3 ?

I ordered some of those for Smokey the in the 16 ounce container now I'am wondering if I should give them to him , it says give 1/4 teaspoon for 16 ounces of water , he eats some pellets and does eat a little bit of his veggies , I don't want to over vitamin him , but I ordered some Feather Terrific and it says to use Avi Calm and theese vitamins , your suppose to use all three from what I have read but I didn't think he needed the Avi Calm , I could be wrong on the Avi Calm maybe I should use it , this is the first time I have ever had a plucked bird so I'am lost on what really to do for him , I try to keep him busy with foot toys and give him lots of attention and he gets 3 showers a week , any one? someone have any ideas here ?????

I was told they had a few teenagers in his first home so they said that's where he learned all his bad words but not sure if I believe that , I think he learned bad words from both homes , if he gets mad at you for any reason he will call you a chithead and a F------er , when I mist him with Tropical Rain Spray he says the F----er , hubby thought it was funny at first but after he said it to him a few times he didn't think it was so funny

3 homes and not even 3 years old yet was a lot for me to try to figure out , and yes he does have some baggage, he cusses bad for one, and he is always nervous ,he says a lot of words but he mumbles a lot so it's hard to understand him , we are a work in progress but each day is getting a little better

It's been awhile since I been here and lots have happened , we have 3 birds now Rocky , Opey and Smokey, we lost Brandy awhile ago due to a tragic accident which I'am still upset about and don't want to get into that , so about Smokey he is almost 3 years old a congo grey and we are his 3rd home , after Brandy I was done with adopting any more birds but my hubby came home from work one day and told me a friend of his from work knew someone with a grey that needed a home he really wanted to go see this bird so I finally gave him , poor Smokey had one perch ,one food bowl and only 1 toy and on a seed diet and plucked not real bad but definitely plucked , I felt so bad for him and wanted to get him in a decent cage , the cage was dirty and rusted out , he needed a good home so bad , I was a little leary at first but my heart went out to him and I had to get him out of their , so that's how we have Smokey , he has been with us for almost a month and boy what a challenge , it took him a week to touch a pellet and the only ones he will eat is the Intune Pellets by Higgins , believe me I have tried at least 5 different kinds and he also eats some Goldenfeast , I have cut his seeds down to 1 Tbl spoon , he hates being sprayed but loves showers , I have been spraying him in between showers with Rain Mist and Feather Terrific for his plucking issues and he gets 3 showers a week , he is defintly a work in progress and he knows some bad words have to work on that to , I have a video of him and he calls me a f-----er the whole time Iam spraying him if anyone wants to see it , he also knows a few more cuss words which I hope he will forget some day ,well I think that's it for now heres some pics of him

heres another pic the breeder sent I must have been at work when she sent this one and she won't be home for awhile yet , we are figureing the end of June or first of July some where around there

she is really growing and really getting red , the breeder just sent me a new pic of her

I took DJ to the vet today so they could do the necropsy , it felt so weird takieing him their all wraped up in a towel , I miss him terribly , the vet said he should know the results in 7 to 10 days he thinks it's liver disease for the fact I could never get DJ to eat pellets all he would eat is seeds and some veggies , will let everyone know when the test results come back

he has not been acting to normal for the last 3 days especially friday and saturday , he was very quiet and saturday he was just sitting near the bottom of his cage all fluffed up and I never seen him eat anything friday or saturday , this morning when I got up to let the birds out he passed away , I' was just getting ready to take him to the vet tomorrow so have him checked out but now I will call the vet tomorrow and take him up thier for a necropsy to see what he passed away from , I feel so bad and I pray it's nothing contagious , he was so sweet I will miss him so much

I have a huge Java tree and Golden Cockatoo bird store has some nice Bottle brush playstands , I have 3 bottlebrush playstands and they are great , they have wheels and you can move them around easy to any room

aww what a beautiful baby girl I have heard they have awsome baby birds , they have a very good reputation I have a nice soft wood perch up high for Brandi to sleep on and one at each food bowl but the ones by the food bowls are cement perch and a sandstone perch also I have a Manu perch and a Boing for her to hang out on , if you ask them at the bird store I'am sure they will help you pick out some nice perches for her cage , don't forget to get a Boing for her , I think all birds love Boings heres a site you can order some perches to it's where I ordered all my perches except the Boings I bought them at the bird store by me http://www.funtimebirdy.com/bird-perches.html you can email Ann and she will help you pick out some perches to , enjoy your baby

I ordered some of thier mix for DJ tonight since I'am still haveing problems trying to get him to eat pellets and I have tried every trick in the book , it's their costume blend called Hi Pro it has pellets ans some seed but no sunflower seed with fuits and veggies , he will not eat Kathies mix from my safe bird store don't ask me why so I been feeding him some goldenfeast with seed mix I also had to order some light bulbs another thing hard to find because I have the stand up floor lamps by all my cages and I have a bulb out by Rockys cage but I change all the bulbs once a year heres their web site https://02a5264.netsolstores.com/
