http://youtu.be/j7po6ySO--E Alfie chatting and asking me to ring bell, does say 'ann ring a bell' but sadly not tonight
-
Im no help but loved the video it did make me laugh, the talking is really good My Alfie is pretty much the same and I always have a perch at hand and touch wood the bites are less, when he does manage to get me he says 'be a good boy Alfie' in the sweetest voice while I hide in a corner trying to hide my pain.

Brought alfie a bell a couple of weeks ago, introducing it to him slowly, in time had it hung on the outside of cage while playing with him would knock the bell saying ring the bell alfie, its now in the cage he doesn't ring it but when on play stand keeps saying 'ring bell ann' and there I am ringing the dam bell, so funny and clever that he has managed to turn it around and gets me to ring the bell!

Advice: ~20 year old rescue or purchase baby from breeder
aw64 replied to DogsBirdsFish's topic in The GREY Lounge
Well said, Im new to all this had Alfie from a baby now 13 months old, time has been mentioned, Alfie has taken over my life, Is it all I throught it would be, no way, does he do all that the books say, not at all, has it been worth it, best thing I'v ever done! Living with a grey of any age is no easy task, I get bites, I get loving times, he talks to me, he bites my table, poops on my bed and then says hello ann and I melt, but there is hell of a lot more to it than that after a year I still have so much to learn. -
Great for some odd reason could not see it yesterday but today I can, so cute
-
So sad, somthing we could all do so easily praying for good news soon
-
oh dear sorry cant see it
-
thanks for that, love the idear of PVC one used that for Alfies play Gyn indoors that may well be a good choice as we dont have that many sunny days here in the UK
-
I brought a sprouter (jamie Oliver one) I'm in UK it was only £7.00 has 3 trays which you put seeds into, stack them pour water on top tray this drains down all three trays and ends up in a fouth dish, I do this 3 - 4 times a day and have had great results, I didn't get on very well before I brought sprouter but now have results every time can take 3/4 days some only 2 days.

can anyone share any pictures of outdoor avierys after some idears, thanks

-
yes agree mistyparrot, thank you for the link, going to have a look on PC to see whats about here in UK, dont want to spend loads as we dont get that many nice sunny days!! lol
-
What more can you want, lovely sunny day spent in the garden with my lovely Alfie and Benson (the dog), struggled but managed to get Alfies cage outside, had a spray shower too not that he throught that was such a good idear, once back indoor helped get tea, sweet potato yum yum then a rumage in the rubbish bag to save the peelings! then the cheeck of it with all our struggling with step ups ect I asked, as normal for step up Alfie agreed and informed me what a good boy he is, which just goes to prove he knows what I want when I say step up!

would chicken wire be safe did wonder if he could bite through that, could get cage outside but there is a step and its hard on my own and he goes mad like I'm sending him into lion pit lol

My Alfie may not be the cuddlest CAG around but he sure is picking up talking so well, If I tell him his a good boy he now tells me I'm good girl, ask him his name he replies Alfie and has just started saying 'hello ann' (my name) and I reply hello alfie, cant believe how he has worked it all out, I do say these things to him but for him to work out I am ann and wait for me to say hello alfie is amazing, we now have a lovely bank holiday, day off work sun is out so hope to spend afternoon out side sadly Alfie has to go into smaller cage for this as cannot get near him with harness, but any idears for outdoor flight aviary would be good sadly on a budget.

Is it a baby your going for, I understand I to waited years Iv had Alfie since he was 10 weeks he is now 13 months, we do have our problems but the guys on here have been very helpful and supportive, but I cant answer your question as I'm lucky and work about 28 hours but he is'nt always out due to having dogs and the fact he hates me doing tasks around the house so for his and my safety he has to be caged during these times, all I can say from my experience is its a whole new way of life, there loads on here to read, I look forward to seeing how this goes

Those 1st words are such a lovely sound I'm sure more will follow now Alfie's started he never stops!!
-
Lap top and Alfie is a big NO NO its closed up when he is out or we have a battle and our battles result in me getting a bite....... if its his its his if its mine its his, his speech is very good for 13 months just waiting for the day he says Alfie Rules

Welcome you will get some great advice from the more experienced guys who will be along soon, but its nice to know you are already thinking about his/her well being
-
arrrrh bless that is one lucky CAG to of found his/her way to such a carering home, be nice to see some pictures, maybe a sad owner out there somewhere but looks like you have covered every thing in trying to find them, as for emergency funds only ever expect them to belong to your new friend from now on, he/she seems to of settled well in short time, soon be time to buy loads of toys and play stand ect ect the list never ends.
