Stewart here, hi alllllll. ( sorry, mama has a tablet not a key board, if i don't move my beak quick enough it just keeps on going!) First off, i love to let my mom love on my and sometimes i will even fall asleep, the fun starts when daddy thinks he can pet me too! Ha, i will lower my head to lure him in then, snap, i got him! I did it yesterday and it suprised him when he yelled ow loudly and pulled that finger outta my beak! I laughed at him. I guess it didn't make him mad though cuz him and mama were laughing too! I am going to do that over and over now since it brought them such joy! Some thing my mom seems to like is when i make piles and piles of what she calls spit balls! I can chew a half a roll of adding paper in the time it takes her to make the bed, then i wait....... She comes back in the room and there i am right above this big pile of paper ready to flap my wings, she always says, don't you dare. I guess that means, flap away blow that paper all over the room so i do just that! Oh what fun we have! Mom gets the broom and i KNOW she loves that thing cuz she always uses it!

Off to the vet today to get our nails done. Boy i hope this goes well. Even though the vet doesn't do the trim himself, after his seizure, he wants to be there just in case. I am weirdly excited to take him because the last time they saw him he was really sick, not near the feathers he has now... I get to show him off!
-
Yeah! I am so excited for you! You both have an angel on your shoulder/ wing!!
-
Oliver had his first misting since his seizure, he wanted it, I had said i wouldn't until he was ready. I have stopped the feather in, of course i finally figured out how to use it and now i am afraid of it! Lol It has taken him about 4 days to be himself again, not grumpy and subdued. But now i need to get his nails trimmed, here come the grumpies again! It is storming here this morning and i just wanted to share what the news has been saying... "Be careful out there driving, the roads are wet" Really, its raining and the roads are wet? Go figure! I gotta change the channel. Lol The wet roads are trumping the earthquake last night that happened a few cities over.

Lol, amazing that these guys are fearless of things that should scare them, in our case, dogs. But give them a twisted rope and bell and they freak out! Go figure! Gee i just can't wait to start working with him and a harness! Won't that be fun? ( this is months, if not a year down the road ) Quick funny story of his personality. Sunday our macaw took a fall, (this story in the other birds room) after the fall the only sound Stewart would make the rest of the day was that bomb dropping noise with a little poof at the end. Little stinker, making fun of his brother! Lol

I am so sorry to hear this. Your in my thoughts.

Spoke to the vet and since he has had no more and has shown no side effects, he said to relax and keep an eye on him. If he starts acting funny bring him in asap. I noticed that he isn't gripping my arm when i hold him but when walking i always hold my hand over his feet anyway. My husband on the other hand he gripped but wouldn't let him touch his feet. I'm sure i am putting more into everything he is doing right now but i'm a paront! None of this is keeping him from eating though, here is a picture from tonight, i had just got some veggies from the garden for dinner and hardly got the door shut before his head was in the basket getting first choice! Thank you all for the support and well wishes!

Thanks. We are just hoping this doesn't flare his pdd up.

That was one of the scariest things i have seen in a while. Pat was holding him on his arm so i could mist him with the feather in and he just slipped right off his arm. He has a frozen wing so he hit like lead. We checked him over and there was nothing we could see, he went about his venture of walking around. Pat picked him up and was going to sit with him and before he got seated Olivers one leg curled into a ball. Pat thought he had a cramp so he was rubbing it for him, he thought he helped him but before he could set his foot back down his other one curled up. All he could do was hold him and help him by talking to him that everything was going to be okay. On the other hand, I, who normally is the strong one, was running around like an idiot telling him i had to get on the forum and find out what we needed to do. Doh! Never crossed my mind to call the vet, my mind went to you guys! It only lasted a few minutes max and he back to his normal self now, but it seemed like hours to me. Calling the vet tomorrow though, no offense, lol.
-
Heres a question... Oliver started his regurging for me as normal but then he put his beak on my arm and pinched me, not painfully, then brought his food up again and pinched me again? Is this normal? He always regurgitates, vet told me not to worry about it but, if he is going to pinch me each time now it won't be cute much longer! Lol I had walked out back and he could see me through the window and went nuts! I started bobbing my head like he does when he gets excited and by gosh he started to copy me, if i moved left, he mirrored me, move right he would follow. Cutest thing ever!
-
Lol, that is so true! Stewart nudged me tonight when i stopped petting him, i have created a monster! As bad as this sounds, i took pure delight in the fact that Stewart lets me handle him like i do and tonight while my husband was playing with him, he tried to just touch his head and got a little warning nip! The whole time he had him, Stewart was looking at me! I had Oliver so we switched birds to keep everyone happy! We try very hard for equal time with the boys so there wouldn't be any issues for either of us down the road but both have bonded with me. (for this month anyway, lol.) I am going to get them boings tomorrow, they both are getting more active so its time to start with independant toys! Lol

I can't believe i forgot to mention this... Olivers vet called to check up on him and he was pleased with his progress. Both Oliver and Stewart go in next month, Oliver for his pdd recheck and Stewart will get tested. I almost don't want to know if Stewart is infected now, it would just cause heartbreak and there would be nothing i could do to change things as it is what it is. And... Drum roll.... Oliver is picking up new words, clearly. As his mommy i could understand him but now others can too! I tend to say, really?, to him when he gets to playing and tossing things on the floor. (as much as he thinks i need the bending exercise, i don't wanna) Last night he started in with his hellos then started with really? then it went to ever and then a new phrase which isn't clear but getting better. Heehee!

Since he has been letting me pet him, he has been biting me on the simple things, like stepping up. He hasn't bitten me hard ever until this week, now i am thinking about joining the bite me club! He use to just nip when he played with me and i was foolish enough to think that was his bite. Oh how wrong i was. It is like he is telling me i can't have it all at once, i can hold him but not pet or i can pet but not hold! Little stinker, i do want it all at once! I can be as stubborn as him and one day, one day, i will win out! Lol

Feather in update: Well if it doesn't work for him, it won't go to waste. That stuff is great for both cuts and bites! I cut my arm this morning at work and it hurt and was red, when i got home and saw the spray i thought, lets just see how this works. Its wonderful! Took the pain away within minutes and within a half an hour the red puffy was gone. Mosquito bites got ya scratching? Feather in! He got the ones we saw on his back but i won't call it quits! This is just day 2. :-)
-
Yeah! I am so excited for you! What a fun time!
-
That was so cute! Sorry bout that camera! Lol
-
Lol, happy to offer a giggle! Third times a charm!
-
Thats great! My B&G does not enjoy showers like that. :-( (yet) lol

Lol. I can't wait to reach that 50/50 point! He has stopped talking, he said step up the day i brought him home and nothing since. Sounds however, he seems to learn a new one every day. ( He started making this loud sharp noise we couldn't figure out, until last week. It is the fly swatter which one of our dogs is scared to death of the sound it makes. We can only use it when she is outside or she will hide shaking. Stewart has figured out that if he makes that sound, there is one less dog in his way.) Since he does like to make sounds and knows how to talk but won't, we are trying something new. We are teaching him to say hello like daffy duck!

Oohh my goodness! I mixed my feather-in up and from my previous post of my boo boo, boy did i mess it up! I pulled the scoop out and it was so tiny that i again reread the directions. At first i mixed 4 tablespoons and after spraying this mud on him, noticed it should have been 4 teaspoons. This morning however after reading it again, 4 scoops = 1 teaspoon. Needless to say, spraying him this morning was soooo much easier and my bottle didn't clog up either. My husband hasn't stopped laughing at me! Fingers crossed!

I got a macaw that was housed with another macaw, who, by the previous owner said, they love each other and i hate to seperate them... Well the truth is they hate each other and my boy throws a fit if he even sees her from across the street. (my neighbor adopted the female) Only you will know the answer when they come to live with you because #1, things change when in a new home, #2, the previous owner mistook the fighting habits for "bonding". I personally feel they each need their own cage. I mean after 25 yrs of marriage i would give my husbands left arm to have a bed all to myself sometimes! Heehee!

We have had a feather sighting on his back, going to start the feather in tomorrow. Got some cute pictures tonight that i will post tomorrow so we can track his feather growth. I tried to get his chest, back and tummy. One picture, i think, ( they are downloading still ) is him eating a red chili pepper from our garden!
