  1. Holy moly! I need 2 of those huge boings with the fleece! My naked little boys would love those! And those mats, i got one at the last bird fair and why i didn't get 4 more is beyond me! I still don't know which one to give it too. Gotta start saving money!
  2. I felt quite safe, afterall, he wasn't near my neck!!! LOL
  3. I am just so happy i have a wonderful neighbor who works for a box company, we go thru boxes like crazy here. The macaws shred 2 a day, Gabby will work on hers for a few days before we have to replace it. Or i should say before Pat has to replace it, i am not allowed near her box.
  4. Yeah for a great day! Gus would nip also when he was just hanging out, but that curbed also, just one little nip in two weeks. But i completely agree with the bordom causing issues. I am so glad you have found happy relief. And ice cream treats to boot!
  5. My boy gave me a kiss yesterday! First time ever! I kiss him but he has never kissed back. Out of nowhere yesterday when i was hugging him, he just looked up and gave me a few kisses! Melted my heart.
  6. Looking to modify a few strollers tha hubs mom has in her garage. Now that would be a funny picture for the family album.
  7. My video tapeing stinks, i was laughing at Oliver running after him and Bubba trying to grab hold of the table to get to Oliver. These guys are such a joy, when they play, they play hard!
  8. Btw, this is progress for him. We have been working on his flying since he came to us and he atleast now uses both wings as tattered as they are!
  9. Lol, here is Bubba taking his turn. Turn you volume down!
  10. Shelby is in love! When Gabby gets "in the mood" thats exactly how she acts! She also acts that way when she wants to be spoon fed like a baby, very normal. What a cutie she is.
  11. I will be referring to my U2 but i must admit we were at our witts end with the biting. We tried everything and our very last hope for peace was the wing trim. I strongly believe that all his new freedom when coming here threw him for a loop. Clipping him, even slightly as we did, was more tramatic for me than him. The random freak flight that brought on the bites has stopped, even his screaming has decreased. He seems more content and comfortable. I cried my head off when we did the clip but now i can't believe we waited all these months to do it. All my guys are free flighted, well those that can fly, Gus will get his wings back too but only when he is mentally ready! Best of luck to you in your journey and do only what feels right for you and your family!
  12. He gave me a love bite yesterday, he is such a cutie pie. Too bad a macaw love bite leaves a bruise. They all got to be outside yesterday from about 10-3. We mowed, gardened and swam and they just loved watching us work so hard. Bubba would call Pat and he would stop whatever he was doing to answer him and then Bubba would either laugh or say what back to him as if Pat called him. Gabby was just making loud kissy noises at him, Bongo wolf whistling. Could you just picture a neighbor who didn't know we had birds, they would think we were perverts with turrets syndrome!
  13. What? I'm sorry, i couldn't hear you with Gus screaming? Am i still dreaming? Yes, everyday i dream Gus will stop that attention screaming! Lol It has improved greatly actually. Mind you he still screams his head off now and then but it doen't last near as long as it use to and we, in time, have found a few of the triggers that get him started, One is the dogs barking, a few yips and there he goes into full scream mode. The other we found is Pats glasses and the third is when we are not in the same room with him and the last is when we are in the same room as him but not holding him. Hmm, i guess he still screams alot! Lol
  14. Nah, when he gets like that all we normally have to do is just touch him and it brings him back around. This time though, Pat had put his glasses on to go into the other room and Gus saw. He hates when Pat has them on, he screams and chases and bites whatever he can. Its too bad Pat is farsighted! Once he really saw Pats face without them he calmed right down. As far as the flip plops, that is scary cuz he loves to attack feet. We are trying to break that habit and for us hiding our toes isn't going to stop him, maybe getting use to feet will get him bored of them. When he first came here, he would even attack your feet in tennis shoes, he is past that now, thank heavens!
  15. The funny thing is it took Pat a few little trips on his knees before he found that little handle to grab onto. I had just found that at Goodwill along with a lot of other fun toys like that and they had a bigger car there that was in their auction area and it was remote controlled. After seeing how much he likes to ride, we plan on going back tomorrow to see what we have to do to join the auction.
  16. Oh yeah, i would have brought it home. I am always trying to find grey things. I love that stink eye he is giving. Maybe give my guys a run for their money!!
  17. He kept coming back for more! He tries so hard to flap his wings, that little pumping he did got better by about the third ride, it wore Pat out but such a trooper, he kept on going!
  18. Think i got it! http://s1296.photobucket.com/user/murfchck/media/VIDEO0010_zps83f421a9.mp4.html
  19. He is doing wonderful! Has a stuffed up nose right now but so do i so we sniff and sneeze together! We have found a new game he loves to play too! It what we call a flightless birds way to fly! http://s1296.photobucket.com/user/murfchck/media/VIDEO0016_zpsabaaa40c.mp4.html
  20. I am thinking of you and Kiki everyday and praying for you both to find each other again.
  21. It is stuck on my phone, too large to email to myself to upload. Sad news is he broke one tonight, Pat said he can fix it though. LOL
  22. I sure hope so. He is loving the floor thing. Lol, he pushed his roller skates all around last night. Too bad the wheels were not the part on the floor. We laughed until we had tears, we did get it on video but having trouble uploading. So far, no regrets on this decision!
  23. So far not bad at all. We had a little jump on to me yesterday but for the first time he didn't bite when he landed! I call that progress. He just seems content, even ate pellets when i watched him, usually he just slings them. Lol
  24. I was actually crying while Pat trimmed him but seeing his eyes light up afterwards while he played on the floor, it made me wonder if all the freedom he had scared him. He had been locked in a cage so long that his wings grew back and then coming here and not being locked up, well maybe too much all at once. He sure seems happier.
