  1. She was the best Christmas/Birthday present I've ever gotten. Lucky me that she picked me!!
  2. Barnaby is very lucky that you found him
  3. Thanks so much guys!! This is why I love this forum!!
  4. She has settled in better than my wildest dreams. She rolled right up in the place like she owned it. Everyday she makes a new noise, which just keeps me in stitches, and, I think she's close to talking, she mumbles something that sounds like it's in my voice but we can't quite understand it yet. She is a total joy and I couldn't be happier with how well she fits into our animal house.
  5. Congrats to you JeffNok!!! I know just how you felt waiting and waiting for Gracie. Now the fun REALLY begins!!
  6. Everyone that brings a rehomed bird into their life has my respect. It seems to be a very tough road, but with very good rewards. Gilbert is very lucky to have you.
  7. I think all us new grey owners are cringing and the current preening and feather finding that seems to be going on with quite a few of our little guys. I, too, am a self-admitted worry wart about our new baby. She peeps back at us when we talk to her and say her name, and every day she seems to come up with a new noise. Yesterday she let loose with a "whoo whoo whoop." I about fell off the couch laughing...and I just sit there in amazement of her and how smart she is and what she picks up on. I think your little one sounds totally normal, because he sounds just like how little Chickie acts.
  8. My breeder and I are located in Missouri, but she knows breeders all over the US and is friends with many of them. I will ask her and see if she knows anyone in your area. She would definitely only refer you to a reputable breeder, as she is one herself.
  9. Thanks dawl I think I am a little too much of a worry wart...but I'm working on it.
  10. What a fun toy! I hope to talk my BF into allowing me to install something like that for miss Chickie one day. However, he's not too fond of the poop situation that may cause...lol.
  11. Chickie often reminds me of the seagulls in Finding Nemo that say "MINE" all the time!!
  12. Congrats!!! Your bond with Louie is incredible and so is the patience you have with him.
  13. Beautiful family!! Thanks for sharing.
  14. HA ha ha ha ha Too funny and 100% true...I am learning that so quickly with Chickie. She's teaching me, not vice versa.
  15. Don't worry tilly22...I found a red tail feather yesterday for my 4 month old and I instantly freaked out and inspected it thoroughly to try and make myself feel better that it wasn't plucked. I had the same reaction you did! Luckily, we have the forum and lots of people to reassure us when things like this happen. Welcome and we'd love to see pics of Tilly.
  16. Welcome monkeybird!! I just brought my little girl home a few weeks ago and couldn't be prouder of her. I spent all this time before she came home worrying and worrying about integrating her into our current animal house. I thought and thought and worried and then when the big day came she just gave everyone one look and then went on about her business. She is already making all kinds of noises too. Hope to see pics soon of all your babies.
  17. What pickachu said are the same concerns I have heard about the zupreem fruit colored brand. I'm not sure if this helps, but I think 1800petmeds does home delivery. I was looking into it at first, before chickie came home, because I didn't know where I would get roudybush from. Since then I found a store that reliably carries it.
  18. Just put up our tree yesterday and Chickie was very suspicious of it...it was pretty funny.
  19. Wingy-what's the brand name of your cookware???
  20. Thanks so much guys Kins-the pinning is like what you describe that Sophie does when she's learning. I now understand, from people's feedback and from more observation, that this doesnt always mean that she's mad about something-like I previously thought. Luvparrots-I think that's what her growl means sometimes. She's never mean about anything though. I try to do what you said, just keep on doing what I'm doing while also reassuring her. So far so good
  21. Luvparrots-when I looked those pans up I found very mixed reviews...how well do they work for you? I'm trying to find alternatives to my traditional non-stick pans.
  22. That's exactly what this sounds like is a grumbly old man growl...like you see on tv when an older man walks away from people grumbling about something. I'm getting to know her better everyday and getting to where I understand her own personal language better.
  23. Wow, congrats! That is the most original proposal I have ever heard of!!! 
