  1. Ok, so I found this site tonight when I was watching the youtube videos of "Einstein the Talking Texan Parrot" and they got Einstein this stocking and I looked it up and just think it is too cute!!! Chickie will most definitely be getting one for next year! If it wasn't tomorrow, she would be getting one for this Christmas. And, it benefits needy birdies...it's a win win! http://www.parrottoyangels.com/stockings.html
  2. I agree!!! However, I am under a strict one birdie limit. It's proabably a good thing though, as we already have quite the animal house.
  3. He is such a handsome guy!! So glad you found him.
  4. Yay!! New room!! Even though I got my Chickie as a baby, I really like to read about the rehomed fids too!
  5. I had Chickie at the breeder's house yesterday getting her wings clipped back a little more, and she has about 8 baby conures right now. She got one of them out and she was holding it and playing with it-I thought it was really cute, so I wanted to hold it too. I picked it up off the counter and Chickie, who had been sitting on her basket the entire time quietly minding her business, IMMEDIATELY flew at it trying to knock it off me. I was totally shocked. I thought maybe the first time was a weird fluke, so I picked up the baby again, and *wham* the same thing. She was NOT happy at all that I was holding another bird. I was totally shocked but then kinda happy cause I guess that means I've been claimed. My boyfriend says that Chickie is simply reminding me of the one bird limit that he has put on me...lol. He knows I have already been eyeing one of my breeder's blue quaker babies and has to keep reminding me that Chickie is to be and only bird child.
  6. Poor guy THANK GOD you have him now since he will get the care he deserves!!
  7. She is such a pretty little girl!!! I am so happy for you cause I know all too well how exciting it is when you first get them home!!
  8. Welcome! And don't worry about asking too many questions-there are so many helpful people here with lots of insight that you will always get some kind of help.
  9. 1. I will be 30 in 5 days...and mentally feel younger but physically feel older. 2. I was in the Air Force. 3. I am originally from Florida. 4. I am a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), which basically means I run the lab tests that your dr orders. 5. I collect carousel horses and Barbies (started collecting with my grandma when I was 6).
  10. Yay for you Jeff!! It's so funny how quickly they totally change our ways of thinking. Gracie sounds like a sweetie. Can't wait to see pics!!
  11. Just sent you a pm with info on 2 breeders Hope it helps!!
  12. http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r438/reliles/WP_000164.jpg Here's Chickie post bath. She really is not a fan of it, but I know she feels much better afterward cause she carries on making noises ususally for about half an hour. The other animals in the house get all worried when she gets her baths, though, cause she raises quite a ruckus. Misty definitely enjoys baths much more than Chickie does.
  13. Thanks guys. She is a doll. Everyday is a new adventure with her!!
  14. Welcome!! I joined the forum a few months in advance of my baby coming home and it really helped me.
  15. Will do, and don't worry...you'll soon be posting yourself about little Grimm coming home. It feels like time stands still, but it's totally worth the wait. I was very fortunate to have an excellent breeder 40 miles from my house. She is with the Parrot Posse here in St Louis and they are a great group of people that are really dedicated to birds.
  16. http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r438/reliles/WP_000166.jpg http://i354.photobucket.com/albums/r438/reliles/WP_000165.jpg Chickie shared her first meal with us the other night. She was sitting on her tree while we were eating dinner, and she seemed interested. My boyfriend got up to get 2nds and offered her some off of his plate and she picked a crouton right up. It was too cute. So, after seeing that, I went and got her and put a towel down so she could chow down on the bowl in my lap. It's so much fun offering her new foods and seeing what she loves and what she "poo poos." Oh, and the really funny thing is that she is more likely to try something if we present it to her on a utensil and if it's warm. She is too cute.
  17. OMG TOO CUTE!!! I wonder if they would take the tree DOWN for me...as I LOVE putting it up and hate when I have to take it down.
