You might want to try a quick lock bowl. It locks onto the side of the cage so your bird can not tip it over. Something like this: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754659

Thanks for sharing. We live in such a "drive through" society it pains me to think of how many birds are so quickly discarded when the excitement wears off.
Sounds like she is doing great! I put a rope perch near the bowl when Lola was perching on her bowl. I think she liked the dark back corner.
You might also try adding a water bowl on the floor of the cage. Or like Wingy suggested....offering her a drink.

I got chills reading your post. Reminded me of the time Shadow showered with me and actually licked water droplets from my shoulder. A feeling only a few honored folks can appreciate.
Sounds like a long standing ploy for groomers to get more work....they keep filing, beak keeps growing. So sad. I have heard people talk of beak trimming, my breeder/friend is absolutely against it also. Makes good sense.
