That is a nice, clean looking young Grey!! My Timmy looked like that several years ago, HAHA!!! You r in the right place for advice, so ASK AWAY! the house i got timmy from was like a zoo, just all kinds of aimals inside and out. Timmy shared a room with 2 monkeys and several dogs/cats so he is used to my 2 inside dogs already. he loves to throw the unwanted pellets on the floor then scramble to the bottom of the cage to watch the dogs fight over them! he gets jealous, i can tell, when i sit with the dogs and dont look at him!

I am at the kitchen table and Timmy is on top of his cage in the sunroom, and he cannot see me, but I can sure hear him loud and clear!! He is in an AMAZING mood for some reason! Talking, whistling tunes, telling my dogs to shut up, ringing the phone and answering it, telling himself to step up (with a leg in the air)....I dont know why today in particular he is just vocal as can be. Ive heard words and phrases hes never said before and alot of talking I just cant make out but he is repeating and praticing so soon he will bust out some new stuff! I love to listen like this cause he wont talk when we are in the room, just whistle a little. hes been doing this for 2-3 hrs now NONSTOP...I just wanted to share!!

has anyone made a shower perch? timmy hates a bath and I need to get him wet more than once a month! just looking for options....

ermal.... you have an African Grey...a VERY INTELLEGENT pet that most people cant afford! Even better, you have hopefully given him a forever home and he will be happy as you once he settles in. Just relax and talk to the little fellow and chill out LOL! I went thru (and still doing so) the same things as you with Timmy and after 2 0r 3 months he is showing his true colors. As for the age deal...WHO CARES, it dont matter, just forget about it and enjoy ur "exotic parrot" that WILL TALK and WHISTLE alot, alot mor than u think. Just remember tho, ur grey is just like a 4 year old kid that will stay that way for EVER! He needs your interaction to be happy but still has a mind of his own! Ask all the questions u want here, everybody is here to help! EDIT: I forgot to say this..... B E P A T I E N T ! ! ! ! ! ! (i failed at that at first HAHA)

haha! a vet tech buddy of mine checked out timmys poo and said the same as what dave said...just not as funny ha!

ermal.... im a month or 2 you will be asking "how do I make this bird shut up"! haha like judy said...be patient and wait for him, he will whistle when hes ready. my rehomed Timmy HATES me to put my hand in his cage and always will probably but thats just how it is. he comes out when he feels like it cause he knows if he does, im gonna snatch him up to hold him or take him in another room to perch with us...but he gets handled on his terms.

If you have the patience, consider re-homing a grey...I did a 4 year old and its working out GREYT!! Money-wise its cheaper and you can give a bird a home he will love!

Timmy "shat" upon the floor and my 1 year daughter saw a nice warm snack!! By time I got to her, she had it on her fingers and the dogs were licking it off her and the floor...quite nasty, but thats my worst one!
