Just to add to this post my grey Corky made her first REAL FLIGHT at 13 1/2 weeks.

Oh yes, you have company thing. In our house you have to be very careful about closing the bathroom door even if your going in there to make out your will because Corky is on her way and you don`t to close the door on her.

Oh I think you need a zon to complete your life, that way you will have two hands full and one extra to keep you on your toes. At first I did not want a zon, but now I would not be with out one. hint hint.

Hi ariisamis and welcome to the grey forum. As you get to know your baby a name will come to you that will fit your bird. As far as a cage I do not know how much space you have, but buy as big a cage that will fit the space you have and your pocketbook.

When you talk to Stewart talk to him and not at him that way he will understand. Have a conversation they understand.

African greys can play just like other birds to a point. Each bird is his own. My son will put Corky on her back on a dinner plate and say she is not big enought for thanksgiving day dinner and we have to fatten her up, she will hang upside down from your hand. She will chase after you in the house and find you. A lot depends on how well they are socialised.

When all our fids are out of their cage my wife or I will hide a treat in their cage so when it`s time to go back they look forward to going back. They always know there is something some place in their cage and they have to find it. We have done this for so long that all we have to say is back to your house and they will go on their own and all we have to do is close the door. This was easy with Cricket because food is her motiavating force. At first we let them see us put the treat in their cage so they new it was there, but now we just put the treat in the cage with out them seeing us and they just know it will be there so they always go back on their own. Always hide the treat because it`s fun to watch them hunt for it.

Hi geoff and welcome to you and Coco to the grey forum and family. It sounds like you and Coco are off to a good start. Give Coco time to settle in. If he will step up to your hand you could take him around your home so he can see what will be his new home You said he has spent time in your home so he might be OK with the move because it`s not new to him. Take the time to talk to him and give him some treats and let him know he is part of the family. OH, We love pictures.

My Corky is a beak banger. She will sit by the window on her perch in the morning and we will say Corky it`s time to wake up the outside birds and than she will tap on the window.
