I've heard of him, I've watched some of his videos and I do want to order a couple of perches from him but I just haven't yet for some reason. I even saw him on Americas got talent, but his bird didn't preform well

I don't know what made me try this again today, because it has never worked in the past, but I filled a glass pie dish with water and put it at the bottom of Babalu's cage. He never goes to the bottom of his cage but as soon as I put the dish in there, he went down and used it! I'm so happy, and so is he because he has been talking singing and whistling.

Inara, what brand is the stainless cage? Animal environments? If it is, are the feeders on the right a different brand? Because I thought A&E cages had the external feeders but with bars, not clear plastic.

That's the lowest humidity level my humidifier goes to, so I use that setting also. I usually bring out my humidifiers when the wall hung hygrometer/temp/weather station is lower than than than 40.

Wow! So much fun! My guy is boring lol. He hardly ever plays.

Well, I've done it again... Found a Craigslist parrot, but this one is in another state! I've emailed and have not gotten a response. If he did or does reply, then I was going to ask about shipping to me. The link was shared in another forum and he is just to cute to ignore. Maybe my husband will go for a smaller macaw instead... Maybe try corn starch and try to hold it tight? Hopefully you will get more replies that can help

When I had them in my kitchen on my spider plants, I set out a bowl of apple cider vinager. It didn't catch them all but it did catch some... I'll be watching to see what others have tried to use to get rid of them also.

I have another question, I just put the lamp back up, but Babalu is out of his cage most of the day... He likes to sit on too of the cage most of the time. So is it useless? Also his cage is by a window, I know the window blocks the good stuff, but the natural light is so bright you can't tell the light is on, does that affect it? Oh, and I forgot the distance it's suppose to be from the highest perch... Is it 18"?

My guy is not a baby, but he still crashes also. I think it's because he has no where to land?? So this weekend I am putting up a perching/landing spot in the living room. I hope he will fly to that when he gets spooked or takes off flying, instead of crash landing in the kitchen.

I wish I could get a harness on Babalu. I got it around his head one time and he FREAKED out! Screaming and falling off his cage, he got tangled in it since he was flapping and screaming. I finally got him away from the cage and he laid still on his back growling ad biting the harness, so I cut it off no way was I going to get my fingers close to his beak to take it off his head. Wish you luck

Wow, I bet that is an awesome job. One of my favorite things at the zoo is the aviary with the African greys, even if I can't find them lol. I saw some greys at the safari park a fee days ago. One was at an animal encounter and it looked like it was unclipped and she had no harness on it. I wish I would have asked about that. Why do I love to see them when going places, when I have one at home?? LOL

I am also curious on how you made these.

For some funny reason, Babalu loves to come to the bathroom while I give my daughter a bath... If I don't bring him, he goes nuts, making his annoying chirps, and will usually try to fly to the bathroom. He normally sits on his new shower perch that is stuck to the mirror above the sink. I placed him on the tub for picture purposes

Babalu was busy destroying the tops to pumpkins while I got the seeds out to bake Wasn't sure which area to post these pics to, so I choose food...:confused:
