Hi, was this photo taken just before feeding or a while after feeding? The reason I ask is because his crop is empty...Is it always like that? Thanks, Jayd [Maggie for Jayd]

Sassy, clean your cage with white vinegar, when it sun drys, have 2 spray bottles, one filled with white vinegar the other filled with H202, [Hydrogen Peroxide] Spray first wit one, than the other, it doe's matter which one you spray with first. This is the best disinfectant you can use, no bleach....You can even clean the cage with the parrot in it, soak veggies and rinse hard toys and bowels etc...Thanks Jay and Maggie...

Thank you, our prayers are with you......

Hola everybody...Salsa here...Don't listen to that big white Aussie...she loves me and she knows it. After all, I'm sooo lovable, just ask me! I found out something new though and it's a secret...after they moved my home to a new spot, I found out that there is a new 'Zon living in the house too!! Yea, yea I know, can you believe it? :pI only spotted her a few times now when I hang off my outside perch and look at the wall. She is sneaky though but I found her and fought her a few times but she won't come out of the wall....hmmmm...I don't know about this one...

It was a decision made from the heart and a commendable sacrifice...

Hi, this was posted on the 17th in the "Off topic" room back on the 17th, that's where we signed...Maggie Thanks URGENT PETITION: Tell CITES to suspend trade in African Grey Parrots! Friends, we need your help! URGENT PETITION: Tell CITES to suspend trade in African Grey Parrots! Next week in Switzerland (July 23, 2012), a small gathering of people who decide how wildlife can and can't be traded around the world (the CITES Standing Committee) will decide on the fate of thousands of wild African Grey Parrots. Uuhh, to keep Salsa in line, I would need a rope! She is a pest...She tried to go in my cage yesterday but I showed her...I won't hurt her but she needs to know who the boss of my cage really is...I had her cornered until Babe stepped in and rescued her...she cried like a woman! Hahaha... Babe moved my cage yesterday too...and she said she needed a forklift to move it...well, I am a big girl...but she sure did walk funny around the house afterward. If I didn't know better, I would think that she was trying to imitate me...It was not my fault I couldn't resist the wall...Salsa started it and I just improved it. I think Salsa was trying to escape to China... Whenever Salsa starts yelling, I yell "Shut up!" but does she listen??? NOOO!! She's a green weenie...evil green chicken... Tango

Thank You, Jay said he won't reply because of so much negative posting. And I'll just reply this one time. We as members need to post clearly, not in jest or in hope that someone might not understand a wink. Jays biggest fault is he tells it like it is, right or wrong, not draging it on, say what you have to say and get it over with. No one here knows how much he might regret, for something he said, we can only try to understand what someone has posted, not to find out they didn't mean exactly what they posted later.Times shorter than you might think my friend. Thank You. Maggie

Hello…this is Joe…Well, Babe really tried to pull a sneaky one over on us this morning. She told us she was going to prepare an egg for us and I was so excited although I maintained my aloof behavior and just said “Good”. It does not pay to show too much enthusiasm…you never know when they might expect more so it is always good to keep them on their toes trying to please you. When she brought my plate over, it smelled so good and I dived right in. Those first two bites were heavenly and then….What the H#*@@%^&@#....there were green flakes in my eggs…I stopped chewing and slowly opened my mouth and out the offending food came. I spit it back out on the plate and used my tongue to remove the remaining green chunks. Babe told me it was parsley and good for me! Well, that is certainly a good way to ruin good eggs! I glared at her and I know she understood that look! I pushed the plate away and would have thrown it on the floor if she hadn’t been so fast. “Want a good nut!!!”….anything to wash the taste out of my mouth…Sheesh!

Hi, this was way back in June of 2010, so it was a Canon digital ...Thanks Jayd

Hello Ana Grey...this is my best side...(wink, wink)...I will certainly think on making more posts...

Thanks ZulusMom, Yes, this is their afternoon snack. This is how it is served to them and Tango gets it with more on hers. This is fruit day...Zons can have more fruit than a Grey. Salsa and Tango eats almost everything on their plate. Joey eats 1/2 to 3/4 depending on his mood. They also get fresh, hot breakfast and dinner daily. Yes, our food bill is high...lol...but they are worth the cost. Maggie

Can't beat fresh..... Joe's Salsa's

Uh, uh,...Hello, Joe here (throat clearing)...I have to say that you are a beautiful one, Ana Grey...(blushing) and I am at a loss for words. I'm a little on the small side but I have other attributes that makes up for my lack of stature...I also live with a pesky 'Zon...hehehe! If I may, I would like to say "Hi" to everyone else also....Papa wants his computer. I told him "Just a minute...I'm finishing up here." By the way, we have VRS (voice recognition software) so I don't have to beak one letter at a time....when Papa told us, Salsa said "WooHoo!"....By the way, Salsa's the other white meat....(hahahaha, just a Grey joke!)

Hello Sterling Gris, this is Joe. I enjoy the responses from other Greys and parrots. I miss Spock so much and call for him every day. It seems to me to be so funny, all you have to do is what comes naturally and our humans are so easily impressed. Eat your food and get praised....dump your food and get a laugh....tell a Grey joke and you are a comedian... White haired old lady?...my papa has no hair and when I land on his head, I skid across! Try to preen that! Well, it is time for my snacks...maybe we have corn today or an egg....hmmmm! Talk to you later...

LOL, Janet, Louie sounds like a handful...typical Zon, through and through! They don't age gracefully...We will be posting pictures of our walls as soon as Maggie finds my battery charger (batteries for the camera are dead). We're also shipping Salsa to you, double your pleasure, double your fun with double your Amazons. P.S. Sounds like Louie and Salsa, a match made in heaven??LOL

Hi Shadow...Bud and 'Stash here...we guess that the last ride was the best one of your life. Look where you are living now! We guess there are some good ones out there. We've been here over four years now and don't have any plans to go anywhere else. Do you like to eat pistachios (nuts) and cashews? Those are our special treats. Buddy's name used to be Bad Boy and mine used to be Bitch but our big ones changed that right away. We don't know how old we are...we are happy now.

In the real world, sometimes for our fids protection we have to do things we don't like or want to do, toweling is one of them. Here's a few pages of sites telling how and giving the proper and safe way of doing it. Thanks Maggie http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=toweling+a+parrot&ei=UTF-8&fr=moz35
