Hahaha....if I recall correctly, it was the pomegranate seeds but it could have been the grape...hhmmm...I don't think he has a favorite...he just likes to bite and throw...LOL...

Yesterday, I was preparing the usual fare for all our fids...this usually takes at least an hour of prep and then an assembly line is formed for 10 plates of food with different items in different sizes depending on which one was being fed... Spock is usually kept busy or distracted because his help is not really needed or wanted for that matter...LOL...but that day, he was not to be deterred. I had just finished all the prep and started filling up the various plates and Spock decided to stop on by and supervise...he was very patient and watched carefully while I filled up 5 of the plates but was very careful to wait until I turned my back... I was standing with my head in the refrigerator and did not notice what he was doing while I was telling him what a good and patient boy he was being... When I turned around, I saw him standing on one plate and leaning over inspecting the others...he would pick up an item and then throw it over his shoulder, lean over another plate and remove another item and throw it off the counter, hop to the third plate and eat something off that....(now I know why I keep the medicinal wine handy...)

On our kitchen counter sits a small radio/CD boom box that I used to play for the birds while we were gone. Last week, in a fit of pique, Spock took it and shoved it off the counter and now it won't work. Yesterday, Spock flew over to it and started talking to it"Hello! Hello!"...when it didn't answer, he began to peck at it...still no answer...he began to growl at it and cuss it out in bird language... Sheesh!! I can just imagine Spock thinking..."Why don't don't you answer???!!!" Maggie

You are so right, I LOVE Amazons but I love all our fids equally. They each have their own place in our hearts...They are all SO different so everyone really needs one of each LOL...In fact, (over three decades ago) our first rescue was a Lilac-Crowned Amazon...beautiful baby with it's own carry on baggage and a few extra bags to boot... Oh My Goodness!!! I am ROFLOL....what a wonderful thing to read about after a hard day....(I'm wiping the tears from my eyes and my stomach still hurts from laughing so hard)... What can I say? It is now official…we have four flighted big birds (heaven help us) Joey has been making small flights (in the manner of Crash Corrigan) and landing on strategically placed pillows around the kitchen. Well, it has happened…Joey has flown…not once, not twice…but more than six times a day. He flies out to the kitchen to his favorite spot by the computer and then flies back across the house to the bedroom where he rests before making the flight back. Spock is enjoying this because he paces Joey every time he flies… Salsa decided the other day that the flying might be useful so she took off in flight also…she has to work harder at it but she makes it across the room and that is all she wants… Tango made her maiden flight the other day when I was spraying everyone off…she took offense to me spraying and flew across the room to land on my arm where she proceeded to show her displeasure by biting me before flying to the ground and walking back to her cage. (Yeow!!!!) So, I am waiting with bated breath for the day that we have simultaneous lift-off…(that will be the day I run screaming down the street….”The birds are coming! The birds are coming!” Maggie

Spock here! Telepathy! indeed, I taught Alfie how to mind meld and to inter-mental communicate, as I have all my subjects, Don't we get what we want? when we want it?. Greetings…Spock here…. I have been busy contemplating my navel (figuratively speaking) and I have decided that some observations need to be aired. Shadow dancing: I have discovered a new life form but haven’t quite figured it out…It occurs in the afternoon and evenings on the wall and it looks similar to me except that it is all black. I can dance and jump around and it follows my steps exactly. It does not speak though….I talk to it and it remains stubbornly quiet. (Although having to listen to that Greenie, Salsa all day, the quiet is appreciated). The Creature in the Mirror: I have discovered a new life form in the bathroom and it looks exactly like me! I lean forward to beak it and it beaks back. It looks like me but I haven’t decided whether it is a friendly life form. (For one thing, it doesn’t preen me, no matter how hard I try). Another time, it flew off the wall at me after I tried to get it to play with me. It was a rather unsettling moment and I admit to being a little bit scared. Maggie put it back on the wall but it took me a while before I went back to see it… The Big White Bird: The one they call Tango is a very disrespectful bird. I, as the King, should have a modicum of respect. Instead, while on Jay’s shoulder, she reached over and nipped at my Royal Red Tail feathers!! I must admit, I was shaken to the core for a few days. The indignity of it all!! Meal Times: Food always tastes better if gotten on the run or as a snatch, grab and run. It adds a certain amount of zest… Maggie! Come Here!: They say Payback is a b…. (whatever that means) I discovered that when I yell “Maggie! Come here!”, she comes out to see what I want! (Take notes subjects). I have answered her when she asks me silly questions like “Spock! What are you into?” (I mean really, she has eyes…can’t she see for herself?) Now, I just yell “Maggie!” and she comes running…. Jealousy or What’s theirs is Mine and What’s Mine is Mine: I have discovered that I have a jealous streak…I resent the time that Maggie takes when cleaning the other room (even though I ride shotgun on her head and supervise). I have even told her “I’m jealous”. I like others toys too (I think that as King, I am entitled) and don’t get me started on all the fun things that Jay has (I know he leaves them out for me to play with despite what he says). Life: This is a serious subject and one that I have thought long and hard about in my 1½ years. It is precious and I live each day to its fullest…who knows what will happen tomorrow? I love life today…it is not the destination…it is the journey…and WHOOPEE! What a fun time so far! Spock Live Long and Prosper….
