Understatement !!!! Welcome Home...Maggie

Greeting's Spock here.. Sorry, no, I'm ok!!!!!!!! The Doc's say there's a couple of med's I can take, but they have bad side effect. There hasn't been much bird research in to birds with this problem, they think it's hereditary...[My dads from Vulcan, my mom's from Earth!!! Must be my mom...] What my prized counsel is doing is they are balancing carb/energy intake and calories...affecting weight... My weight gain in essence is slowing me down, now we have to balance it........ Love Spock Live Long and Prosper

Greetings…Spock here. This will be my last update. I just wanted to let you know that for the last few weeks, I have been holding my weight at or near 443 grams. The last week, I have been 449 to 453 grams. The vets say it has to do with my diet. Their main concern is how long my internal organs can take this high metabolic rate. They say, “Slow down! Slow down! Stop flying so much!” to which I reply….”What?” To all my human and avian friends…Live Long and Prosper Spock Remember; “The needs of the many outweigh... the needs of the few...or the one."

Locally, we can't get Avian screw-in type UV Full-spectrum bulbs, so I sent off an email to Zoo Med. Here is their reply...Very Nice.... Thank you for contacting us. The Reptisun 5.0 is actually exactly the same as the Avian Sun 5.0 bulb. You can use the Reptisun 5.0 in place of the Avian Sun 5.0 as long as you follow the instructions that come with the Avian Sun bulb. For your convenience, I have included a pdf copy of these instructions as an attachment. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Spock here! You must remember, These Fuzzy little Green things can cause trouble, they remind me of the "Tribble's", every where you go, Slasa stealing my food, no respect for the Grey King....Sneaking up and nipping my tail when I'm making myself pretty!!, Greenie's, best kiss-up birds a round.... Greetings, Spock here...Issac said most of your story was true. He also told me that it was only logical...his intentions were always to return. He knew where you were at all times. He never had thoughts of going anywhere else. He knew he would never find anyone who would love him and spoil him as much as you do. (He told me that he missed your feet) He informed me that he had heard somewhere that "the grass is greener on the other side" and he wanted to see what the grass was. You are a very deserving "parront" if I do say so myself. Live Long and Prosper my friends Issac and Stephen, Spock

:confused:It always amazes me when the birds answer appropriately to complex ideas….a few days ago, I was cleaning the cages and I walked by Joey’s cage and told him that I would be cleaning his cage soon. As I walked away, I heard Joey say “Okay”. I didn’t think too much about it, thinking it may have been a fluke so I was a little surprised when the next night, I told him that I had to wash his water dish and I would be back with fresh water, (he had been asking for “Good Water”). He again answered “Okay”. Today, I was leaving for work and I told him I would see him later and again, he replied “Okay” before giving his contact call. He must have picked it up by listening to Jay or I talking and asking each other to do something to which we answer “Okay”… Verrrryyy interesting…. Maggie

May I suggest, wipe down your complete new cage with "Apple Cider Vinegar" It's one of the best disinfectants there is. Do it wet and let it air dry! Jayd

LOL Dan, To answer both...Jay is his 3rd round of antibiotics and is following Spock's diet of probiotics...(They both LOOOOVE yogurt) My hair is very long and I pin it up with bobby pins in pin-curls to help with the natural curl (Vanity, thy name is Maggie)...ha ha ha!!!

This morning, Maggie got up with us to feed us...She had whispered to us that Poppa was still asleep because he didn't feel good and we had to be good and quiet...I certainly did not need to be told that but that giant White thing (Tango) and the resident Greenie (Salsa) sure can yell....sheesh. All went smoothly (at least on my part) and everyone finally settled down to a nice warm meal (with me beginning the feeding of course) but after a while, I noticed that Maggie had these funny things in her hair. Interesting....hmmm!....and when I pulled one out, a curl popped out too. Boy was it fun!. I pulled and tugged and it bounced and jumped away. It was more fun than my toy that I bop back and forth...Salsa found a curl on the top of her head and started playing also...it was so much fun... Then Maggie started taking all the other metal things out and there were more curls than I knew what to do with...Oh well, it's time for me to get on the computer anyway. I have to check my e-mails from my loyal subjects.... Spock Live Long and Prosper

Hi, I've contacted "TOPS" to get some info, their food sound interesting, I like the fact they state right out that fresh veggies etc, also need to be feed to our fids! My only concern is 'soaking for 8 to 10 hr's? I need to research this for proper handling. If [?] the ingredients are not fresh and viable, this could pose health issues, I'd like to see how many of a controlled amount of their product sprouts.... Will reply when I have a answer... Maggie

Thank you, good looking baby, nice home for the sweetheart. Maggie
