:)Birdnut, yes this is true, the banding they are referring to is on the underside of the tail.:)On pied's and pearls, the orange cheek can be bright on both sex's, this baby appears to be what is called a "Split" which would be "Pearl/Pied", The pied being the yellow spots on the nape, and yellow on the wings and tail. I LOVE this thread...thanks Dan!!! Joey has been calling Jay "Papa" when he wants him to come over and visit or play (he learned Papa from Tango). He will start out with a "Papa" and will progress to "Papa, come here" and if Jay does not respond fast enough he will go "papapapapapapapapaaaa and then laugh at his own joke....(LOL) Spock does this also but his is a shorter paapaaa with a laugh. When Jay leans over to them, they will both bop his nose with their beak (their version of a kiss)...it is too funny!! Maggie

Thank you again for getting a older Baby! It's wonderful you've done this!! Your sleep time is grey't, 10 to 12 hrs. 10-11hr's mating season, 12+ hr's all other times. If they're in the same room as you and activity's, they'll stay awake even if covered! Take your time, it takes awhile for a re-home to unpack, your going to learn things from your baby for the next few years, listen, observe, because he will not always make it obvious. Everyday with the Fids is an adventure...yesterday, even more so...I was cleaning out the cages (and the house LOL) and Spock had flown into the Bird Room to check out what I was doing. I had just finished playing referee between Salsa and Rodan (the cockatiel):mad: who had been trying to decide who was the biggest and baddest and had pulled out the cage tray for cleaning when Spock flaps his wings and says "I'm jealous!" I don't know where in the world that came from but I picked him off my head and spent five minutes reassuring him before taking him to Jay. (LOL) I finally got the Bird Room done and was carrying out Salsa to her perch in the kitchen when I noticed Spock standing on the coffee table, poking at the phone and talking in Birdese to it.:eek: Apparently, he was making a long distance phone call and got caught at it before he could complete it....Thank goodness for that... those overseas calls are expensive!:rolleyes: I gave Spock a toy and Salsa a Bean pod and thought they were both content...silly me...I had my back to them when I heard a crash...Joey said "OH LORD! Spock! NO!" I started laughing so hard, I really didn't care what had happened...but as usual, Spock had decided to help me clean the counter and had pushed off a casserole dish and a water bottle that had been on the counter and was proceeding to try to get a piece of candy in my purse...Joey started calling for Spock, "Spock, come here..." (with his evil little laugh afterward):cool: I cleaned up that mess and tried to finish up the cages in the living room amid cries from Tango, "What are you doin'?", Salsa's "Salsa's a good girl. Step Up", Freddy's "Maggie, Maggie, Maggie" and Joey's "Joey wants a good nut! Which one?" while ignoring Jay's snickers as he surfed the net. I finally got everything done and was getting everyone settled for bed when I heard Spock say "Beam me up" and then chuckle...If only they would....hahahahaha... Maggie

Our feelings are that until there is a change in the world monetary system, nothing will change, and even then there will be greed! Hello, Joey here...I enjoy my baths occasionally...on MY terms though. I let them know and they oblige me when I can't reach my back by misting me. It is nice...I like my way though. :oYou have to start out with "good water" (only the best bottled water for me. I can tell the difference) Next, you have to pour it over a bowl full of crushed ice. (Stirred, not shaken) Once my bowl is in place, I dip my right toe in it, just to make sure it is okay. Then I take a drink...yep, just the way I like it...Then I start dipping in and splashing all over (I wish they would play music for me though, I like to dance while I dip). Just when I am getting into the groove...OUT POPS THE CAMERA! :mad:Sheesshhh! I'm surprised [Dan] that Loki's crop wasn't checked! Vet do a CBC.?.? Add a little Applesauce or "Papaya" [right-on]to the formula. Alternatively, unflavored Pedialyte or Poweraid [better] fed every two hours for the next twelve. Raise the tank temp to 96-98 for a few days, they can get Sour-Crop if the temp is to low. Even though the baby, crop empty's, some times just a dab can sour..I'm glad you switched to Zupreem!!! Your really doing great.......Maggie and Jay
