Apparently the lady whose bird it is wants him back, the only reason Kate has this bird in her possession at the moment is because this lady came to stay and brought the bird with her, she reluctantly left him with Kate as Kate said she would take him to the vet and get the right treatment for him. This lady wont do that as her attitude is that its "only a bird and vets just rob you" Obviously Kate doesnt want to let this bird go back to be treated the same again but is worried by legal implications.

my partners dad had a brother which died and his african grey was left in the will to his wife which didnt really want him but they took him in then this lady died and left it in her will to be passed down to her sister. This sister came to Down to stay at my partners dads house and brought the african grey with her and she has done this for years but everytime we saw it it was in a terrible state where there were feathers missing on his wings and body and generally was in a poor state. It was upsetting alot of people and because we have birds ourself we decided to do something about it so i got her to agree to leave the parrot which is in my care at the moment and i along with my partner and his dad are making sure it gets the medical treatment that it requires. Alot of family members have said that we shouldnt give the bird back cause she is neglecting it. We have already had him at the vets once and the vets have said it has been neglected. What rights do i have to keep the bird? Cross posted, this lady rang me today, the poor guy seems to have lived a terrible life these last few years. Hes 22 years old.

That was so sad, i found out 2 weeks ago my dad is dying of cancer and im a daddys girl, its crippled me listening to that song with the little girl talking in it.

I have my job that i enjoy very much and my horse. I am a believer but not too sure about ouija boards.

Its surprising really, all greys look the same yet i can tell just by looking whos who out of my 3. Its rare i get it wrong by sight but impossible to get it wrong by characteristics, they are all so individual.

HI Guys, im in trouble, mum heard a thud and realised i had managed to open my dinner door, throw my bowl out and climb through the hole. She has no idea how i did it as its a parrot proof but obviously not Chocko proof house. Shes sure she closed it properly as since we all came to live here she checks things constantly to ensure our safety. :laugh: :laugh: Im so glad mums dont have the same intelligence we do, :laugh: :laugh:

They are also being captured by scum to be sold on as "baby parrots, tame and talking" My first parrot was a victim of this, they operate in different areas up and down the country. If anyone sees an ad in their local paper please report it to as many people as possible. Ive tried to everytime they advertise in my area and so have quite a few others but because its a national thing no one seems to want to get involved, maybe if there were more complaints some one may decide to to something. I did manage to get the ad pulled from our paper the last time which is something i suppose.

i am posting this in the hope that if someone you know or you see or find an african grey parrot in the shrewsbury area you can contact me. He is grey with a black beak and bright red tail he escaped in the abbey foregate area of shrewsbury please if anyone sees or finds him contact me here it would be greatly appreciated as he is a part of the family thanks for reading any info no matter how small would be great.!!! Alfie, its time they learnt that what they think is theirs is actually ours! :laugh: I get told off for playing with mums things but i just blow a raspberry at her, :laugh: Last night mum put me in something and took me out, we went to this huge place that mum said was a pub and it had lots of men in it, (i love men!) including the one who put the new door in, it was ace fun, i made my way round them all, one even got a photo of me on his shoulder! There was one who talked a lot louder than the rest and he played my favourite record and dedicated it to ME!!! I was singing and dancing along, i even flew for the first time as i was taken into a quiet dimly lit room and the only way to get back to where the action was was to fly, its amazing what you can do when needs must! :laugh: Mum was so proud of me,:laugh: I got very overexcited though so mum packed me up in the carry thing and took me to my usual place at her friends house for my weekend party. I love it there, its a noisy house unlike ours and the more noise the better for me. As usual i got over excited there as well so i got told off, my reaction was to challenge mum to a play fight, she pretends to punch me and i do all the punching noises then she picks me up puts me on my back and we both shout "tickle tickle tickle" I love my party weekends.

I also love the way Bella sits looking up at me on my chest when were having our cuddly time, Bellino doing his showing off by hanging upside down, folding his head right over his back so hes like a little ball and swinging from side to side. Also Chockos reaction when she gets told off, she looks up suddenly, sings a line of her favourite song, blows a raspberry at me and then goes back to doing what she was being told off for. :unsure:

Hi guys, its me Bellino, im the quiet one in our family, Mums friend has just gone so were now playing out,he was making a really loud noise when he was here so ive just been copying it, mum says its a drill! :laugh: I may be quiet but im very observant, :laugh: Chocko has already ripped loads of paper up all over the settee and flung it everywhere, shes not in the good books as mum had just vacced up and Bella has been in mums handbag and taken everything out! Mum says she wishes the girls were as good as me. :laugh: :laugh:

Im having a horrendous day, mums friend has come to put a new front door in, im surprised really cos i terrorized him last week when he fitted the dish washer, i was only trying to help by passing him his tools and saying words of encouragement, :laugh: :laugh: anyway mum has kept me locked in and im right next to the action! Its all going on in front of my beak and i cant reach it!!!:ohmy: :ohmy: Ive tried shouting "OY" and whistling but im being ignored, im even flapping my wings in time to the hammer bangs and drill! I wouldnt know where to start to say what i love about mine! All 3 are totally different but equally lovable in their own ways. I bought some more toys today, spent ages choosing them. They all have one each and i know exactly who will choose which toy. Bellino likes the chew toys, Bella loves anything that has a noise and Chocko loves shredding. I love the way Chocko always shouts "what" when im talking to someone and laughing with us. She also shouts "OY" when she feels shes being ignored.

My baby brother hates baths as well! He used to love having a good dip and i hated it, its the other way round now and if mum squirts him he just splats on the floor trying to get away!:laugh: :laugh: I have to get in the way of the squirty thing with my wings open to protect him! :laugh: B) B)

Precious, how do you cope? We all make fun of our mums and take the mickey but theyre still our mums, i coudnt cope without mine, Bellino and Chocko would be ok cos theyre not mummys fids but i am, i really hope things work out for you, at least youre being loved and cared for in the meantime. :kiss: :kiss: Bella

I dont see any problem with an amazon room on a grey forum, im a member of several forums, some general parrots and some grey forums. Even on the grey forums there is a section for other birds and theres never been a problem. Its like being on a dog/horse forum but only allowing a certain breed! I know this forum specialises in grey but we cant be racist towards any other feathered friends! I used to have a ringneck and i spoke about him on grey forums.
