  7. I am thinking that some trust has been lost on both sides of this situation. Maybe taking a few steps backward and then moving slowly forward like you are introducing a new bird into your home. More cage time less hands on time. Lots of stopping by to chat, give a few treats, sing and dance together with out stepping up. Make it fun short and interesting.
  8. You have to love parrots singing every time.
  9. I have had that happen it seems some types of oil can break down the latex also some cleaning solutions and definitely Houston heat.
  10. NOT SAFE-ask for the specific chemicals used and then call your Veterinarian for information as to toxicity. Better safe than sorry. Ask your pest controller how much they can afford to reimburse you for illness or death of your bird. Spiders hunt and lill bugs that can spread disease like roaches and flies.
  11. He needs a radio controlled car or pick up truck.
  12. Keep an eye on that area of disturbed feathers but don't make a big deal about it. Now you have a picture you can compare the area in another week and see if the feather loss continues or if there is no change.

  15. I was able to rescue a parrot from a tree on the far side of town this week who had been missing since the first of the month. Only found out where he/she may belong yesterday hope to witness the reunion today. So keep on looking and do not give up. This was a smaller size Parrot who contrasted with the foliage and still remained missing for over seventeen days.
  16. We all hope for a safe and happy outcome for that bird! I always check on CL for lost & found and have managed to match a few up with happy results.
  17. who thought Lilly would become a dog trainer extraordinaire.
  18. The first real job I had was at t department store that had a pet department. There was a Crow and an Amazon there as intrest bringers and that crow was fast , clever and a talker. He waould call "Here Kitty kitty" then bark like a dog. We often had to return people jewelery after Lucifer took it from them. A memorable bird and a wrong place for one to live.
  19. I love when a plan works out even better than anticipated, got to see that video.
  20. You may have unwittingly given Gracie the idea that the language is connected to her reaction, so in saying "Gracie no bite. Kiss kiss. Trust Gracie" she may think of it as a cue to use the bite I think she is warning you rather than reassuring you.
  21. So exhaustion is the mother of invention. Happy to hear he is feeling at home again and more comfortable traveling as well. who knows what new moves he will come up with in the coming weeks.
  22. I love the story of her adopting you, it was meant to be. Ruby is gorgeous of course and I thank you for sharing your flock photos.
  23. Dan is correct that applies to Too's as well. Try and keep that petting restricted to his head area.
  24. I realize that decision was not arrived at easily I respect the fact that you tried many other solutions first. Sometimes that little trim can tame the inner predator.
