  1. It seems to be a truth backed up by the fossil record, not sure how advanced some of our feathered friends have become since then.
  2. Should be a safe choice, most of the cages our flock use have that spacing.
  3. Maybe because they are smaller and not so overwhelming, good for Alfie!
  4. She may be just molting a few feathers at a time. Keep her busy and make sure she is getting enough unfiltered Sunlight.
  5. Will have to think on this one, they do leave us wondering sometimes.
  6. Just took a look and they have Higgins and many other excellent bird foods, perches and toys included in the sale and I am not a Prime member, sigh.
  7. I have a large mason jar full of feathers in the living room and a smaller one in another room. Keep thinking I will make time to be creative with them all.
  8. You found each other and that was meant to be.
  9. That ability to connect the dots is always amazing, maybe those alien minds can connect with ours.

  11. I remember when television was black and white and went off the air after 10:00 p.m..
  12. Well it sounds like you came out pretty well on that escapade. Go Vincent, many Goffins are natural dancers I am glad he shared that with you. Now video please....
  13. Very nice update so happy to hear that you are both progressing to a more trusting relationship.
  14. Maybe a little long on the tip but it appears to be wearing down so no worries as it is not long enough to interfere with eating.
  15. I agree with the earning her trust back routine. Limit interactions to speaking to her, reading a colorful book to her & showing her the pictures, singing or dancing to music and treat giving. Until she relaxes I would not even request a step up, let her come to you.
  16. Poor guy you just never know what is next. Maybe he inhaled some food or water along with the pellet allergy. fingers crossed that the pellets were the cause. You can still put in a call to the Vet and perhaps get advice.
  17. Impressive history, good for Mimi
  18. You can always wrap the exposed outer sides of the cage with sunscreen fabric that you use for plants we do that at the Sanctuary to provide some Sunshade and as an extra barricade against predators. I also suggest using something to block entry or escape from below.
  19. Poor Pat no fun being ill, though it sounds like Sonny is taking up the slack.
  20. I love to watch them take flight! There is hope for Gil girl as Pookie had never flown before living with us and she was 21 yrs old when she arrived. Now she is flighted and has pin point landings but does not take to the air very often.
  21. Very similar indeed, have to think a step or two ahead either way. Keeps your brain in good shape and that non threatening approach well practiced. Good job!
  22. Good job his feathers aren't even ruffled!
  23. A busy bird is a happy bird just keeps us on our toes. Have you though about getting a toy laptop for the bird that wants everything, you might be able to find one at a resale shop?
