  1. Hubby not so thrilled but since they are Greys it works out. Don't have them in the same room yet doing a little quarantine exercise as they were in yukky conditions.
  2. A very strange happenstance occurred this last week culminating in the arrival of two lovely CAG's . The twilight zone part of this story is that both of these birds came from the same original person that Smokey Joe (reputed to be possessed by demons) came from. The lady who had passed away three years ago died rather suddenly with late stage cancer. These birds along with some others were taken by a relative who now years later wanted them all gone inside the week. A dear friend of the deceased had promised to always look out for these birds contacted me about the Greys. She and her hubby picked them all up to transport them. They are taking in the other birds temporarily until they can be out placed safely. Filthy cages and box store bird seed. They used to be spoiled babies fresh veggies, bean mix, fruit and other goodies. Their toys and bowls were so coated with droppings I had to run them all through the dishwasher after scraping them outside. Welcome to Michael & Sparrow, Smokey Joe has mentioned Michael many times since he has been with us so yes it is a very small world and who knew in a city this size these birds would somehow find their way back together. We figured out the connection after this wonderful couple landed at our house with the birds and stayed to help clean the cages in our backyard in the serious Texas heat. Grateful that they are reunited and hope that Carolyn who loved these birds can rest with a lighter heart.
  3. Some very messed up people live among us.
  4. Leave some seed in his bowl and let him watch you hide the rest so he gets the idea of what you are doing. You might just let him see you put some seed in a piece of paper you can then crumple up and put in his dish. Make it easy and obvious to start with.
  5. I had an Avian Vet tell me some of the non certified in avian care vets have just as much knowledge and experience as those who do. He was recommending a non avian certified Vet to cover when he was out of town and told me that the care and skills were excellent and had no qualms about referring my bird to them.
  6. Loving those little feather nubs coming in.
  7. I would talk to her about the move to a new place and let her know that hubby will be elsewhere. It sounds silly but even our cats seem to get the gist of the message when I share my feelings and any upcoming changes in the household. Act as normal as you can and let her know she is important. It had to be difficult to share that with us I respect your willingness to give us personal information to help your Grey.
  8. Sorry couldn't help but have a little giggle over that post. Concern trumps logic kind of a rock paper scissors approach to baby bird observations.
  9. Welcome! Does Moy Moy have a translation or is it just a name?
  10. Fun to see people talents expressed, nice.
  11. Tired is normal under your circumstances but this too shall pass. Now we are going to need more pictures as he develops. How is Pats new job going?
  12. A new tail! greyt news I hope he lets it grow too.
  13. Adorable baby, just what you needed a helpless baby to care for. this is how we learn and grow I think. Congrats on the new baby Lisa.
  14. On the bright side you are not suffering any boredom. It is funny how the dynamics and interactions are so fluid and change more often than you would expect.
  15. So I will add my Welcome as you are still a newbie among us for now. Love your attitude and willingness to approach this commitment from a more knowledgeable approach, you should make a safe and happy home for any parrot.
  16. Yes they can cut a nylon tie or plastic cable clamp very easily.
  17. No vitamins needed just add some fresh veggies and fruit to his diet. You can offer a little scrambled egg, some water packed Tuna or Salmon or even a little cooked Chicken with a bone for him to enjoy.
  18. Sophie the brave, she could work as a cruise director.
  19. No missing pieces visible on that window sill, Echo is not keeping with the Grey code.
