  1. What part of the world are you in so I can help direct you? Perhaps fostering might be an option as well.
  2. He got "too" choose a friend, hope it works out for him.
  3. First Welcome here, second I think we spell that Cameroon Grey as they were believed to be from that area of Africa. My Whisper is a Camaroon-big silvery Grey girl.
  4. Must have been something in the air today I went and bought two rope & stick swings for each of the new guys and a boing for Sparrow to gain balance on.
  5. He is outgrowing cute and headed for beautiful!
  6. Yay good save there Devin, they are often suspicious of new things and slow to accept them. Grey time is a concept that takes a bit of adjustment on our parts-perhaps they are here in part to teach us patience.
  7. To quote a song "Sweet dreams are made of these." Your patience and observational skills are now rewarding you for all the time and worry your little Swamp Queen has brought to you, relief and some freedom of fear.
  8. When gradually is mentioned that may mean over a few weeks rather than hours or days.
  9. Yea sure quiet are not they all? will try again later apparently my Photobucket account no longer knows who I am.
  10. Farting 1,2,3 must be a test pattern. glad you joined us and it will be an adventure watching Congo come out of his shell.
  11. Michael playing with our youngest offspring
  12. A different approach but may be doing that thinking people would understand be more comfortable with pounds and ounces better than grams which is a more "sciencey" approach.
  13. A friend just made stuffed peppers for her flock, they seemed to be quite popular will try to get permission to share a photo or two and maybe the recipe.
  14. Aww look at that little blue baby, he is turning into a real Macaw.
  15. Having birds adds to our creativity and gives us a new fashion of eclectic decor. Don't feel so badly for Kane at least his injury is from early in his life. One of the Greys that arrived last week lost the end inch of her left wing to a "bad wing trim". I wish I knew whoever did that and when it happened, still has some scabbing but that may be from failing about when she was falling. Karma
  16. She continues her progress up the path to confidence in her people and surroundings. Gil girl is such a brave little Grey warrior now, sweet moment.
  17. That was worth waiting for! So much fun to hear how she is interacting with you both now, clever girl. Will be wanting Alexa updates as Alexa gains more of a grasp on Inaras' communications.
  18. Lucky you and very fortunate birdy boy, Winston is quite handsome as well. If you will read through Gilberts thread you can follow the progress of a little Grey girl who had an overwhelming amount of baggage she carried forward from her previous home or homes. I think you will find out about Grey time and a view of building trust one moment at a time. It is among our sticky threads, link to thread [h=3] Sticky: Gilbert is home[/h]
  19. Pictures are on my phone and have not gotten them onto photo bucket yet. Sparrow was clumsy and falling off her perch and it took me a couple of days and a small siezure to realize she was most likely Calcium deficient. Due to her having one wing shorter than the other, reported to be a very bad wing trim and not wanting to stress her by handling to examine just yet as she is a nervous shy girl I missed the obvious and almost ran to the Vet. Amazing how fast adding more calcium rich foods have repaired her clumsiness. Michael however is doing great!
  20. Yes a Siamese mix and you were not expecting picky? They think of it as selective - here are some sites that should help you make him happy. 21. Actually Cockatoos are quite good at loosening screws! This may explain those of us who live with them.
  22. She got the message and feathers do fall out and regrow so not a permanent change. You each have to decide what is right for your bird and your situation so not to judge unless you have walked that mile in their moccasins.
