  2. He will remember but may pout a bit.
  3. He will forgive you eventually he does need to get that stuff off him.
  4. It looks to be a cousin for sure, but I believe it is in the Lorry family and is an Aussie bird.
  5. Bird house has good advice, perhaps a trip to the shower is in order for your soggy friend. Then a treat and some personal time together.
  6. One of cats came to us with the name Captain Morgan, funny as he was supposed to be a past relative. His name got morphed to Captain Kitty as our son is name d Morgan life is complicated enough. Fun name for the little guy.
  7. You are doing great a slow approach building trust is exactly what you need to do. You can add giving him a little treat to your routine, sing a little song to him. If he allows touch he may allow a step up if he knows what that is.

    Sneezing

Sounds good but the switch from negative to positive bacteria may be an interesting side effect of the meds that treated for the negative. Ask if you should continue or restart the probiotics. Could it also be she has found the sneeze to be a part of her vocabulary?
  9. Meet the closest one and you will know if there is a connection, if not go meet the baby. I think it is great if these guys have a little input on deciding who they want to live with. I currently live with 4 Greys who came to me for various reasons all are older birds and each is unique. Pookie CAG is a nervous neck plucker she is 24 years old and selected me ,before I adopted her she plucked her belly and under wings as well so I feel like our relationship has made a difference for her. Whisper is a big silver CAG of unknown age I believe she may be youngish from her behavior. Smartee is a foundling of unknown age and one of the smallest calmest TAG's I have ever met. Smokey Joe is a big CAG who is sharing our home for a while and he is around 2 years old full of himself and hands down has the largest vocab. but he is a bully with our other birds (so is the little Smartee Pants who can chase even our Elanora Cockatoo off the cage tops).

Do you see any discharge? How is her appetite and water consumption? Is there an avian certified Vet near you?
  11. No apologies required, who knows if this sweetie would have gotten this far if some one else found themselves in this situation. You get a gold star in my book! I love that open happy little baby face.
  12. Welcome-it looks like she is saying "back off my shreddy toy".
  13. You can also try putting those evil veggies in the blender and stirring into a mash or some yogurt or just sprinkling some of what she likes on top so she gets a taste inadvertantly.
  14. Will be interested in how that develops.
  15. It appears she has some Red factor or Mosaic patterning. Pookie my CAG girl has it on her neck belly and thighs. Ellie has a rather unique look a pretty patern and perhaps a bit of CAG in her genetics as that is a rather bright red for a Timneh.
  16. You do hang in there it will work out and will be sweeter for the annoying wait. About the cookware-it is not cooking for the birds that presents a danger when using non stick it is cooking at all. The fumes released during high heat or extended cooking times are the danger not so much anything from the pan mixing into the food. Eshana you are strong and smart enough to stay in school and save money so you will get where you are going.
  17. People and birds can eat raw sweet potato, just wash well and peel to remove any dirt or fungi that may be lurking on the skin.
  18. Sad for your loss but joy in your accidental new feathered friends. Senegals always remind me of those aliens in the coffee break room from Men in Black-no fear, jolly fun and so curious, one of my favorite species. Appreciate the wonderful photos you are sharing with us, very nice.
  19. I give the flock each a cardboard box making certain no sticky tape is still present and they all have a blast playing inside then taking it apart one messy fun day after another.
  20. I think it is a sore subject because we hear of so many illnesses & deaths associated with improper hand feeding techniques often due to lack of knowledge. It is sad to know too many people find themselves in the same situation and don't know any better-you took the initiative to get help and ask questions-Good move, you showed courage, compassion and smarts.
  21. One more tale- Last night I was covering the birds for birdy bed time and Pookie could hear me talking to Smokey Joe telling him good night, then I hear from the other room "Bad bird, Bad Joe". I think that meant she wanted the attention so stepped her up and gave her some one on one time. After 10 minutes of me time she said "bedtime" so off she went to bed.
