  1. Not fun for any of you, please let us know what he is like today and what the Vet advises.
  2. Pookie our early 20's CAG had always been clipped when she came to us. It took over a years of waiting for her primaries to grow in while encouraging flapping and then we could start flight lessons. She nwo flies and lands well after being with us over 5 years now. She is still not a frequent flier but can fly at will. So there is hope even for a bird like yours. P.S. She began as a girl who could only drop down like a rock.
  3. I wash peel & chop then add to birdy bread with as much produce as I can stuff into the mix and still have firm up when cooked. It is very popular and they birds often don't catch on it is chock full of healthy veggies they would most likely toss on the floor. Feeding the raw shredded or chopped beets gets to looking like a murder occurred and very messy murder-lol
  4. Spray over her head allowing the mist to fall on her rather than spraying her directly, much less threatening.
  5. Good for you taking on a bird who will continue improving in your care. She has had many years to learn that humans are not good flock mates or very rewarding relationship partners so now it will take lots of baby steps and lots of time to complete this journey of gaining her trust. We all appreciate your willingness to work patiently with her and enjoy the progress and the elation of every small moment of progress in gaining her trust.
  6. They do and there is a group on Yahoo called Feeding Feathers that continually has great feeding ideas and nutritional advice.

    Supplements?

So many things can impact these sort of habits, bathing and excellent nutrition are a great base to work from and you have those under control. Offering shreddable toys, stuffing the cage full of safe chewable branches with leaves, hanging wet Kale carrot Greens ect. in the cage will offer good foods as a toy as well as a healthy choices. The leafy branches gives them plenty of chew exercise and distraction to keep those sharp Grey minds and beaks occupied and in good shape. Suggesting Crape Myrtle, Hackberry, Bamboo and Magnolia as safe to start with, stuff that cage making her work to get from one side of the cage to the other.
  8. Having a Greyt time there, fun to see.
  9. We can change your name to reads too fast or fumble fingers? Now that does sound like a mistake that has most likely been made by others in the past and more in the future, so don't feel too special and we all needed to laugh.
  10. I believe that no one was being slighted just redirected to what we already have available. Repetition can make it more difficult to find things after a while if we just keep on re posting, that is why we have sticky's and we ofter refer people needing information in that direction. This year ther seems to be less war like behavior than I have seen in the past so I hope we can all rethink & reassess before we get offended as no offense is intended. Smile and keep on loving these Grey birds and friends. I like your suggestion of making an area to find all these items in one place.
  11. My take is that we all have been know to look for shortcuts once in a while so I understand why one would look for a quickie list for life with a Grey. Nothing however will take the place of experience, research and good advice from fellow Grey besotted folks on this board.
  12. She has a very sweet look about her.
  13. We all benefit from hearing about these wonderful birds in their home country. thank you for sharing your own experiences with them in the garden that was fun to read. It is tragic how people traffic them in such a way that they are dying and sick in transit and their valued as cash rather than their lives.
  14. He is looking both relaxed and much better, the feathers he has are taking on that glow.
  15. And I believe she will still have Parrot poop on her somewhere when she goes out to work or shop.
  16. Wonderful to see how he is progressing, some Grey never do get cuddly so you are fortunate indeed. Yay Stewart and kudos to you for your patient work building trust creds you are now cashing in.
