So I haven't been on the Grey Forums since Yoshi's birthday mid-April... lots going on here with work and what-not. I passed my military PT test, which I had been stressing out about It's just slightly hectic lately at our house, but it's finally winding down. Yoshi hadn't been getting quite as much attention, but is now happy that she is getting just as spoiled as she used to again So, enough about me, updates on her! Yoshi is doing well... has now lost 3 of her original clipped feathers and the first two that dropped two months ago have been replaced fully by two beautiful flight feathers Yoshi doesn't hit the ground hard at all anymore... it's amazing how much of a difference those two feathers have made. She works those wing muscles all the time, jumping off her cage and getting farther and farther before she gets the the ground, flapping like mad. She seems very proud of herself, and I was delighted to see another feather on the floor last week. I know she wants to fly... She also has a couple new dark purple-red tail feathers that look so pretty! I captured a picture with her wings open that shows off her new wing feathers, they look kinda funny pointing out so far I'm glad they haven't bothered her at all! I found Yoshi a nice little stand for our bedroom... only $40 from a lady who makes them and was clearing out her garage That's the one Yoshi is on in the pictures I found out Yoshi is scared to death of balloons So balloons are a no no in our house unless away from her... But I think the biggest new thing is "talking"... at least sort of. She has been making the weird gremlin noises for months now... still is... and whistling. Well, Yoshi has picked up on "Peek-A-Boo!" and LOVES IT. It's funny though, it's like she is cheating... she more just whistles the tune, or notes, then actually "says" the words. It's a work in progress I suppose It is fun playing Peek-A-Boo with her although she wants to do it ALL THE TIME lol. So my husband and I are hoping she will attempt something else too! Who knows? Well that's all for now, I'm sure I'm leaving something out lol... I have soo much to catch up on here and missed you guys and your Grey's a lot!

My Timneh is named Yoshi too... I pray Yoshi is found safe and sound!

Crazy lol I've never tried just giving Yoshi a small whole pepper to chew on before, just cut up in her foods... perhaps I will have to try that

Amazing watching them fly outside My Yoshi doesn't like the harness freaks out as soon as I put it over her head. I'll just have to keep trying

So Yoshi, my husband, and I got to be part of a get together of bird lovers at this store close to here... and we had a great time! There were fun toys to be bought, and stands for those who brought their birds along Yoshi had a blast, and was actually pretty friendly, I guess she was in a good mood. She kept getting snacks from people and did all her little tricks and seemed pretty happy! What's funny is that I gave her a piece of ice, which she happily munched on, and over half the people there had never heard of such a thing... thought it was too cute. Soon other birdies were munching on ice too! I didn't take that many pictures, but I did take two of this awesome Macaw I saw... such a pretty bird, under one apparantly... the owner was trying to sell her for $9000 Outta my price range, lol. P.S. Yoshi looks so small compared to him

I don't have any specific shirts for bird-time as I've gotten Yoshi pretty much potty trained. In the house it's easy to remember to put her somewhere and say 'Go Eww' every 20 minutes or so... I get maybe one mistake poop on me a week. If we go out together, then addicents are more common, because a lot of 'unexpected' is going on and Yoshi seems to forget that she is supposed to wait to poop lol. But oh well, just means more washing for me

Your baby is still new and probably trying to fit in... it doesn't sound as if you did anything wrong from your description. Just give him time, he probably just got confused.

Yoshi is banded... the band fits her just right and she has never bothered with it as far as I can tell. If the need ever arises, I will get the band cut off though.

While I don't have a baby-book... I do have tons of pictures, and I've kept Yoshi's first two clipped wing feathers that have fallen out. Someday I'll get two unclipped feathers

Congrats on losing a clipped feather! One step closer to flying Yoshi has lost two, one on each wing, and new ones are almost fully grown in for those two, and are sticking out further than the clipped ones. I doubt it's plucking, but keep an eye out for sure!

Potty training is very helpful, especially when having your baby with you on the couch or while you are wearing a nice top It didn't take Yoshi long to learn, but her wings were unfortunately clipped before we brought her home so she must be taken to her potty spot. As long as I remember about every 20 minutes to take Yoshi to her stand or cage and say 'Go Eww' she poops in no time Makes for very few accidents! The more you get your baby used to, the better it will be for him when he is older

I think the inside of their beaks and that little black tongue are creepy lol... nice pics But then my Yoshi probably thinks a human tongue is weird too

How cute Yoshi also waves... its fun teaching them that They probably think we are silly, praising them for raising their feet lol
