1. I think that does make you the oldest owner (not you, your birdie!!!) I can't believe your grey is nearly as old as me (and older than some members!!) Welcome to our family - please do get some photos sorted and join us - we would love to know more about you. I'm so glad I started this thread - I've enticed a new member!
2. You're right Lyn - we are too quick to complain and don't take the time to praise and thank (not only in bird world)! After the summer you had last year with Alfie it's great news that she's finally settling down a little bit - I suppose it is, as they say, the terrible twos! Good girl Alfie - mammy's so proud
3. Ha Ha! I agree Ashley - once we have you we don't let go..........!
4. I agree! I've missed chatting and reading about the exploits of our birdy friends - fingers crossed we are up and running again! Thanks you teckie chaps and chappesses!
5. Ha Ha! There is always one who presses buttons to go further isn't there!!! Why do you have to be so quick!!! I still wouldn't do it though - two weeks ago the whole of Britain came to a standstill in this snow - never mind throwing a tropical bird into the mix!! I've had my heating on for weeks during the day to keep Harvey warm - I'm just going to put his cage in the back garden when I go to work!!! Why doesn't the bird fly away though? Because his central nervous system has closed down due to the cold and his brain isn't functioning I read also that she houses her breeder greys outside - my question is HOW! It's bloody freezing here in the UK!!!! (always)!!! Oh - and just an addendum - I was only reading their forum when ours was down - I promise!!!

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2010/01/26 21:04
6. Ha Ha! Chimay needs a psychologist!!! He's a really good little talker isn't he - Harvey is showing no interest at all!!! You'll have to try and catch that on video!!
7. OMG! That beetle is cleverer than Harvey!! I can't believe people train these things!! Parrot themed now - would this get on your nerves, or would this get on your nerves!! http://www.stupidvideos.com/video/animals/Parrot_Cries_Like_A_Baby/#267273
8. I too wish you all the success Debbie ~ glad he's been to seek professional help and I am so impressed with the hidden depths that this forum has to offer. I am proud of you for asking for help and proud of all these fabulous people who offered their own personal experiences and support at such a testing time for you.
9. I'm not saying anything (yet)......I am sure I don't have to and there will be a plethora of responses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4gi-o-ARxA
10. Oh ladies!!! I love, love, love a happy ending!! Thanks for some happy news
11. Oh I hope this poor baby is found soon ~ keep an eye out for it's safe return.
12. That's great news and as Lyn says - has totally highlighted this condition to us all and made us aware of this condition. Fingers crossed that Francis is okay too - the poor mite has been through enough!!
13. What happened at the vet yesterday? Hope all is well
14. Thanks Jay - another beautiful, though rare bird. The colouring is marvellous - I wonder if it ate the honeycomb?
15. Hi and welcome back! I remember you had many decisions to make about what would suit you bird wise. A cockatiel is a great choice (although noisy!!). I had my cockatiel Spiky for 17 years up until last year. They are great little characters and I'm sure you will enjoy Bibbls. Look forward to the photos.
16. Cannibals capture three men. The men are told that they will be skinned and eaten and then their skin will be used to make canoes. Then they are each given a final request. The first man asks to be killed as quickly and painlessly as possible. His request is granted, and they poison him. The second man asks for paper and a pen so that he can write a farewell letter to his family. This request is granted, and after he writes his letter, they kill him saving his skin for their canoes. Now it is the third man's turn. He asks for a fork. The cannibals are confused, but it is his final request, so they give him a fork. As soon as he has the fork he begins stabbing himself all over and shouts, "To hell with your canoes!"
17. I can honestly say for one week I have stuck to my lifestyle modification exercise and not eat too much programme and STAYED THE SAME!!!! Bummer! I'm not discouraged - I'll try for another week on the same "programme" and then if it is showing no effect then I'll change! Welcome Ashley - and well done for that weight loss!! Well done Lyn!!!! Wish it were me!!!
18. A parrot swallows a Vigra tablet and is obviously acting in a rather disturbing way, so the owner puts it in the freezer to cool down. 20 minutes go by and the owner goes back to the freezer and opens the drawer to find the parrot sweating. The guy says to the parrot "how come you are sweating so much?". The parrot answers "have you any idea how hard it is to part the legs of a frozen chicken?"

You will definitely have to catch the dancing on video - it'll be fun to see - just make sure the volume on the Westlife song is turned down a bit  Look forward to seeing it.

21. She is absolutely beautiful - her colouring is fantastic - it's so dramatic. She looks like a cutie featherball
22. Ooh - I'm learning so much! The first Amazon fossils date back to the Early Miocene period (about 16 to 23 million years ago). Fossils have been found in Australia and Melanesia.
23. Hi and welcome to you and your birds. You'll find loads of information to help you along your way - and hopefully make a few friends too.
24. That's great! You won't know what's hit you once Chimay gets those feathers in and starts zipping around the house! It's great when you call them from another room and they come flying to you ~ probably even more precious when they've been clipped and you've never seen them do it before. Go Chimay!
