What irks me most is male drivers in BMWs! I shall not say anymore.......!
-
Oh good Judy - I'm glad that my encouragement hasn't been needed in this department!!! I'm soooooo glad it's the weekend though!
-
Ah, that must be so comical to watch! Harvey isn't near a window either - I might just move him to watch some (although the trees are few in my street so it might take a while to see them fall)!! Nice cheap thrill for Jasper though! I love it!
-
Cocoa is fearless! Cocoa is such a socialised birdie it is unbelievable! She clearly isn't phased by the children at the playground and just carries on! Great videos!!!
-
Okay, so I haven't really been trying recently.......! Until I found my new "hobby" ~ I've joined a "Boot Camp". It is absolutely hilarious and such good fun - but does consist of me getting up to go to training at 06.45am!! I love it though!! It also was kickstarted by a "detox" diet - I lost 6lbs in the first week and have certainly firmed up! Sometimes it's outdoors, sometimes indoors - so I might be covered in muck one day and just sweaty the next! Oh, I am painting such a good picture of myself aren't I! So, anyone else out there still trying to lose weight and keep fit???
-
YAY!!! I'm back and therefore - so is F.A.R.T!!! This place must have been very dry for the past four months - no wine, margaritas, gin, vodka.......! I must say - I have carried on regardless without you all - but perhaps now a few more members may like to join......!! F.A.R.T on fellow Grey Forumers!!!!
-
Goodness Me!! I turn my back for a few moments and look what happens! I am steadily working my way through the posts and "stumbled" on this one!! Robin, you are one hell of a lady! As you know, I couldn't even imagine having two - never mind nine!!! Absolutely gorgeous!! Looking forward to hearing more about him! Jill xx
-
Oh I don't know - I have a husband who I probably wouldn't miss.........!! The point we are missing here is - THERE'S NO QUARANTINE LAWS FROM THE UK INTO ITALY!!!! The bird would have just needed a quick health check!! The stupid bloke just LEFT his parrot - he didn't want it!!! Ge me a seat on that council...........!
-
Unfortunately Paul - I'm a bit like Banksy - nobody knows what I look like and I'm going to keep it that way!!!! Anyway - don't want to frighten the good folk of GF away!!!
-
I kiss his tummy too! He loves it! Look, at the end of the day - any bloke is lucky who gets a snog from me!!! Thanks for the kind offer of human feet Dan - but I draw the line at hairy toes and fungal infested nails..........!!!
-
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!! Go Spock Go! I would give Gordon Ramsay a ring and ask if he needs a hand in one of his restaurants - but on the other hand, sweet Spock can't be repeating those rude words that Mr Ramsay uses quite frequently!! Anyway Maggie - you didn't say what Spock favoured the most and didn't throw!!!
-
I was thinking about the bird too - because I remember ages ago the story about the heron and your pond too! Poor little Dayo - you're right though, it's lucky you were home. We don't know what does go on when we aren't home though - it's quite worrying. Glad all is well with little Dayo though xx
-
Yes, I've sniffed a few times over this - truer words never said - thanks for bringing it to the forefront again x

Harvey has a java tree which stands about 5 foot 5 in height, so when he is on it he is directly level with the middle of my head (I'm 5 ft 6). I normally ask him for a kiss when he is there and just "hanging", but one day he wasn't having any of it and just looked at me blankly! This is where it gets weird! I started kissing his foot (strange, I know) and he lifted it and flattened it out over my mouth (as if telling me to shut up) but left it there whilst I kissed the bottom of his foot! He doesn't claw or try to hurt me and will leave it there as long as I keep kissing it! WEIRD OR WHAT!! Do any of your birds have any "strange" behaviours!!!
-
Ah, bless him - he was just having a snooze! My cockatiel used to sleep nearly hanging upside down - he was so tipped forward on his perch I often thought he would fall forward - but not once in 17 years did he! I love seeing sleepy birdies - they are sooo cute! Funnily enough - I have never, once seen Harvey asleep! Glad things were fine - scary moment over x

Chop things up small, chop things up chunky, mix a few together. Offer them on kebab skewers, offer them cooked and raw - owning a grey is like a science experiment. Also - what he decides to like today, he won't like tomorrow - but offer it again next week, or even next month! They are soooooo choosy! You're not alone - they all would prefer the hamburger and fries (seed and more seed) than they would the boxed salad - bit like kids really! It's really frustrating - but keep it up, try him with some cooked salad beans (you can buy the mixes of the dried beans in bags - cook them and mix them in with his veg). Also, add all different flavours - cinammon, chill flakes, dried ginger etc - it tempted Harvey - he used to be the same! Good luck! -
I really thought this thread was the announcement of your new hobby!!! Thanks for the laugh Dee ~ I'm now off to clear my thoughts of you in your lycra vest and shorts........!!! Pass on my best wishes to your daughter - tell her to breathe deeply!!!
-
You seem to have your mind set on another macaw - only you know the adjustments that will have to be made in order that your feathered family runs smoothly! Good luck x I like your reasoning for the macaw not coming to the shop with you - the description is about the same as a husband! I understand entirely!!
-
Ha Ha Ha! Nobody will have a scooby what you're on about!!!! Although living in Northumberland, I too am Newcastle born! Princess Mary's Maternity Hospital (1974) - I think it's posh flats now!!!
-
Harvey does 10 laps of the house! He'll fly into every room, back to his cage, back to his stand, back upstairs, back into the bedroom - and then has the cheek to bite me once I actually get to him. One day I'll bite him back......!!!

Oh Yes! They call it "caller preference" here in the UK. The only problem is - it only covers companies within the UK - outside they have no juristiction over them! Then again, the caller preference service is quite naff too - companies still ring you - they don't care!!! I'm going to get myself a loud tin whistle and blast their ear drums!!! Or, reverse psychology, ask them the same questions they are asking me - or I might try and sell them something!!! -
I got a rescued teil 18 years ago now - and sadly had to send him over rainbow bridge nearly two years ago now. Spiky was very cage aggressive, wasn't tame at all, never came out of his cage in the last 10 years of his life - but he was happy. He was fed and watered, cleaned, sprayed and talked to. It didn't matter to me that we weren't the "best of mates". I had him for 16 long years - with the same relationship over the years. I agree with Birdnut (sorry, I don't know your name!) and Jay - this little bird needs a vet - watery poo isn't a sign of health - and especially if it isn't clearing his vent. This is what happened to my tiel and before taking him to the vet I personally had to prise the poop from his vent to clear it. Then I took him to the vet. He's sick - he can't be bothered with you, please get him seen to before the inevitable happens.

Exactly! This little grey is obviously well looked after and although not perfect being in pet's corner, if the RSPCA have been involved the bird is obviously in good condition and not suffering either. I'm sure he's got a lovely aviary and is the centre of attention. I know it's sad to see any animal in captivity - but we are all guilty of it! So, good on the RSPCA and the council (for once) - tell him to get on his bike!!!

Try chopping your veggies and fruit up small, or putting them on a "skewer" or kebab stick and making them look more interesting for him. Try sprinkling some ginger or cinammon or chilli powder on it too - a different taste may tempt him. He really does need a more varied diet and you just have to keep trying. Try taking away the seed. There's some great recipies for "birdie mash" on this site - you want to try making some. I find that Harvey loves mashed things and gets stuck right in. Perhaps you can make birdie muffins too. Everything is trial and effort. Harvey would rather eat sunflower seeds too - but I just remove them from him when I think he's not eating the rest of the stuff - he sharp eats when he is hungry. Regarding the "shaking" - is it his breast that is shaking, sort of quivering? If so, this is normal - they all do it and it's nothing to do with the cold. If he is shaking all over then this is more of a problem, and it's something you should be asking a vet.
-
Yeah - it was the one with the spring inside - I think he bit down hard on either side of the flat area that presses in. Needless to say - he doesn't get near it now! I did have to basically force Harvey to "eat" the flour so it would stick - but I don't panic in situations like this and keep calm (luckily) - but the vet was on hand should it have gone any further. All is well that ends well though
