1. No beak banging here from either parrot.

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/09/24 01:48
2. Thanks! Did you notice hearing Emma in the background asking for some corn? She get a bit jealous of Sachi.

4. Thanks guys. Here's hoping for the best possible outcome.{Feel-good-00020114}
5. I really don't know. Perhaps we are less tolerant because we aren't at our wits end with screaming parrots. Bird Talk appreciates the advertising. It's up to the individual consumer to be discerning and discriminating. I would always consult with my avian vet first.
6. My pleasure Judy. I figured the video would help illustrate what the pictures don't. {Feel-good-00020114}
7. People who consider purchasing this product would probably do better with a stuffed toy parrot instead. .
8. Thanks guys! Sachi had no problems taking ownership of her cage. She was only a little bit nervous about using the Freedom Buffet. It took about 3 days but Sachi is very confident today and very comfortable now. Here's a little video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qChXJ18jgY8 On a side note... Emma loves Sachi's cage and the Freedom Buffet.
9. I am very happy to have 2 parrots. They provide companionship to one another when the humans are out of the home. It can be a balancing act sometimes because my little one is a bit of an instigator and sometimes jealousy rears its hairy head but I wouldn't change things. With that said, I would not be able to handle 2 greys. Emma requires alot of mental and verbal interaction. Sometimes it feels very very much like having a human toddler and if I had another grey .. she would get less personalized attention than what she is accustomed to. I think I would also feel stretched thin. Having a pionus parrot is a very good complement to having an african grey in my opinion. My pionus is more laid back and independent. She requires less verbal interaction from me and more scritches. I can handle that. I think parrots are very adaptable to change and eventually come around to newcomers. I only recommend that you recognize what your personal limits are and if you should get another parrot.. do it because YOU want the parrot and it's ok if Tobie can't stand the newcomer. My pionus parrot was my first parrot and she was 15 months old when she first met Emma. Today they are both flighted and this is great because the little one can fly away after she provokes. Thank Goodness Emma never tries to go after her. I know for a fact that they do enjoy being in the same room as each other and am ok if I am not around.

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/09/25 15:01
10. Emma will be 19 months old soon. I wonder if there is a behaviour difference between the two genders when they reach that 2 year old stage. I wish I had some kind of preview. I feel very confident about my current relationship with Emma and am very good at reading her body language. Haven't been bitten in months. I wonder if this wll change. Any feedback? 11. I would probably just use plain white paper. http://www.origami-instructions.com/origami-water-balloon.html B)
12. Cooked garlic in some kind of mash is fine in moderation but raw garlic or onion is a NO NO for all parrots.
13. Give him some time and be extra nice and patient with him. He'll come around.
14. I think this new grey will help accelerate your healing process.
15. Thanks Dave for the graphic and explicit explanation for those of us who weren't sure. I do not ever give scratchies below the neck or chin.

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/09/22 19:46
16. I am wondering about vet wrap. Can it be used on stainless steel and how exactly does it work? Is it sticky on one side like a band aid? Thanks in advance.

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/09/22 01:06
17. My parrots really love pommies and fresh figs. Thankfully, their pretty tidy eaters.{Feel-good-00020114}
18. I would not consider my grey to be loud at all. With that being said, they are all individuals with their own unique temperments. When you meet them as babies you can never be too sure as to how their characters wil develop. I am certain that what they receive from their environment can influence them greatly too.
19. Hope Lilo enjoys his new home.
20. I would always supervise any physical contact between young children and any african grey.
21. It arrived yesterday. http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww304/emma9sachi/IMG_2981.jpg[/img] Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/09/19 19:32

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/09/19 19:33
