1. Hope you guys aren't sick of Emma. When I watch this video.. I am reminded of how much I love her. She is such a joker... asking me for a scratchie so she can stay motivated.{Feel-good-00020114} She has such a "what's in it for me attitude". 2. I agree Judy.. ..and that freaking out would have probably made the parrot hold on TIGHTER.
3. Yay!! What great fun for you and Harvey.
4. Poor Fred. congrats on your new addition.
5. OH he did? :blush: Sorry. I just saw that today. Did not see Dan's original post. It is funny but at the same time not funny. It made me think of Dave's post. I bet that parrot held on very tightly to that man. It must have hurt alot on the neck.
6. This was hilarious and disturbing to watch. May be rated X for some audiences.{Feel-good-00020114}
7. I am constantly purchasing presents for my parrots for no occasion whatsoever.
8. Great toys for parrots who are mechanically inclined. http://www.parrottoy.com/

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/10/02 17:30
9. I don't know how old Ecko is but I can't remember Emma being so stubborn and aggressive. He does sound a bit like he's taking advantage of your good naturedness but I also have a feeling that you're being too much of a softie too. Have you thought of getting in touch with a parrot behaviourist in order to discuss the situation and give you concrete tips on dealing with this issue? I'm sorry things are a bit rough right now.
10. Caitlin you are not a failure at all. I do believe that you might need some help with handling Ecko though. Could you give us more detailed info about what has been going on with the both of you. I have noticed that you haven't posted in a bit and was wondering whether everything was ok.
11. Personally I do not leave my parrots alone for more than 10 hours and this occurs twice a week. I do not feel or think that your parrots should be alone for 48 hours without someone coming in to change their water, check their food bowl and make sure they are ok. Consider getting in touch with your avian vet to see if you can keep them there or bring them to a reputable parrot daycare.
12. I'm wondering if any of you have had to deal with VERY serious Jealousy issues when trying to introduce a new parrot to your flock. I'd like to know what happened and how you managed to resolve or work with the problem. I'd also like to know how old your existing parrots were and how long you had had them in your home before introducing the newcomer. Thanks.
13. It might take a while. Keep being determined. All I can say is that Emma loves her Harrison's.
14. I purchase my sugar cane in Chinatown and ethnic produce stores. Emma and Sachi love sugarcane.{Feel-good-00020114} P.S I love it too.

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/09/30 05:35

OMG

oOh!! That would be pretty nice.
18. Both of my parrots perch on one foot when they are relaxing.
19. I don't think that it matters what the length is. It can be whichever length.. what really matters is the thickness or width of the rope. An inch or inch and a half is appropriate.
20. My parrots have a very healthy attitude towards change. Change is not foreign or frightful to them.

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/09/29 15:39
21. Janfromboone wrote: That's impressive that you still wanted to purchase a parrot who didn't appear to like you much. What attracted you so much to Tobie? I don't think I would have been inclined to bring home a parrot who didn't seem comfortable with me. I am very intrigued.
22. Tobie is really funny. I find him very entertaining and a big joker. Between Tobie's got a red butt and Emma's Where's my red bum bum? That would be hilarious if they were both in the same room I don't think Emma laughs at all when it's funny:P . Emma will imitate my laugh very well and then say "what's so funny?" "I'm so funny!" I'll say to her "nothing's funny and you're not funny either." Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/09/29 05:38

Post edited by: lovethatgrey, at: 2009/09/29 06:01
23. I have a feeling it will be when she's a little over a year old.
24. Congrats Judy!!{Feel-good-00020114}
25. Thank you everyone for sharing your personal experiences. Who know's? Perhaps one day I might find myself taking the same leap of faith or maybe not. I suppose that if I ever did decide to take that route.. I'd be pretty determined to make it work.
