  2. Wow!! What awesome photos!! I am jealous and too afraid to let Emma out on a harness!!
  3. For those who like to feed Beak Appetite and similar types of food.. Here's a better alternative. http://www.chopperstoys.com/CatalogAvianFoods_BSB.html
  4. He sounds adorable!! What a beautiful photo!!
  5. Crossfit, that info regarding extinction is awesome and right on the money with what I've been doing with Emma recently. Thanks for sharing!
  6. Mmmm.. Sounds like Harvey has a taste for the exotic!! Emma's spice of choice is cayenne pepper and HOT HOT chilli peppers. She hates, ciIn the past I've had to try veggie kabob skewers and sneaking it in her beloved oatmeal. These days, no sneaking is required because Emma loves her daily veggie bowl. I know some parronts also sneak veggies in homemade birdie bread. Somehow, I don't think the princesses would like ginger too much.
  7. That's super Awesome Judy!! Emma and Sachi loves those veggies as well! They make fun footie food!
  8. Thank you so much everybirdy!! Glad you are all enjoying Emma. Jooles, thanks so much for that wonderful compliment! Do you guys think that Emma sounds like me?
  9. Buy your husband earplugs and maybe a stuffed african grey instead. Having a parrot is very challenging and is also alot of work and continuous learning. I cannot say that enough. Alot of the members on here have given alot of great advice. You're entitled to take what you like and ignore what you dislike. All I can say is that if he's continuously making this undesirable behaviour, he's also doing it because you and or your husband have helped to reinforce and encourage this behaviour. Even if this has already been mentioned, I think that if this is important, your husband really should be on here as a member. He'd learn alot more and perhaps would be more understanding.
  10. But not quite there yet!! Uno Dos Bahamas Sheva (seven in hebrew) Diez At least she's come a long way two weeks ago which was Otto, Dodo, Quaditch.I've also been trying to teach her how to sing Kokomo by the Beach Boys.
  11. Thanks Jilly, Judy and Jooles!! Yes.. her traditional grande finale move is her trademark Jilly!!
  12. I had asked my vet about this a while ago and she explained that when the parrot's heartbeat increases due to stress, excitement, panic, etc.. their digits( toes) will warm up. This is quite normal but at the same time you want to pay attention to see what may be stressing or exciting your parrot. This happens also happens when they are active and fly around alot.
  13. Here's my favourite grey girlie. At least this time she let me film for over a minute. In this video she also says.. "Hola Chiquita as well as Otto instead of Uno"... I've often wondered what thought process goes through her head each time she chooses to say a word or phrase out loud.
  14. Remember the Paper Pandemonium toy? This is what is left of it. (Kabob wood not included) I added that myself!!
  15. He sounds very playful and agile!! Loves his Momma!!
  16. That is so special. Greys can really get a sense of people!
  17. That's awesome!!! You are very creative!! The Paper Pandemonium toy consists of sheets of paper with pony beads in between too! It's all held together with Polly Rope!!
  18. Thanks Everybody!! Luv parrots, yes she was very vocal. She was practicing her counting in spanish and even requesting for scratches. She really enjoyed being out there!
  19. Today Emma went to her avian vet for her annual checkup. It was a great one and Emma seems to be very well adjusted too. She didn't like the towelling much at all but was very forgiving. Afterwards She demonstrated this flying on to Dr. Beaulieu's shoulder to hang out. I was very proud of how social and well behaved she was. Afterwards, we went took her to the park for the afternoon and I would say it was a very special time!
