  1. It's not easy to put the harness on Mocha. I had to struggle for more than 5 min to put it on. After putting the harness on, Mocha tried to fly away many times and crashed onto the floor. After awhile, Mocha settled down a bit and I cautiously took him outdoor. I just walked a few steps outside my house. I was afraid Mocha would take off anytime without warning. To my surprise, Mocha stood still on my finger and enjoyed the walk and the new surroundings. We had a wonderful short walk.

Mocha tried to pull a mole out on my chest. You can't imagine the pain Mocha inflicted on me. I went to a pet shop to test out the strength of an adult mynah's peck. He punched a hole in my finger with just one peck.
  3. I used to put Koko's harness on Mocha. There were no problems then except his foot always get caught on the belt part because the harness was too big. I had not used the harness on her for almost a month. That's why Mocha is rejecting it now.
  4. I bought a new harness for Mocha. He dislikes it and trying hard to get rid of the harness. Video here: edited by: dhorje, at: 2009/10/24 10:46

    Blow dry

Not to worry. Koko hardly gets her "blow job," probably once in 2/3 months.
  6. Koko was soaking wet after a shower. I placed her on her stand as my wife was going upstairs to take shower. She flew upstairs to the top of the mirror of my wife's makeup table waiting. When my wife came out of the bathroom to dry her hair with the hair dryer, Koko walked down to the lowest point of the mirror. It seemed like she was asking for blow drying. So my wife blew her with the hair dryer. Koko was enjoying the warm air and lifted up her wings asking my wife to blow her wet 'arm pits'. This is the 1st time she asked for a "blow job". Sorry, dunno what word to use.
  7. Beautifully taken pics. I love them.
  8. I made 2 recalls this morning.

  10. Wow! That's interesting. I wish my Grey could talk.
  11. I asked my gal to hold the leash in between to double up the flying distance. Videos of Mocha.

  13. Made a few videos of Mocha with my new camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXAJMzePtgM
  14. View my morning walk with Koko here. http://mycag.blogspot.com/2009/10/morning-walk-with-koko.html
  15. This is how Mocha comes out of cage.
  16. This is an interesting thread. I bought a wings clipped Blue Rumped Parrot more than a year ago. He was such a clumsy flier. He crashed into wall most of the time and also suffered many crash landings. Thanks goodness he had never injured himself. His feather grew back in a year and became a great flier. It is so much safer to see him flighted than wings clipped. I have given him to a friend who promised me not to clip his wings. I am sure birds are happy to be flighted. I can't imagine how Koko feel if I clip her wings and she can't fly to her favorite playgym in the playground.
  17. My daughter saw this stand while we were passing through a section in the car park at a supermarket. They were clearing all the display goods. My gal said, "Dad, this is for Koko." I don't know what the heck it is used for but it will make an excellent stand for my fids. Mocha perched on it immediately while Koko who has no guts on new things refused to. I am planning to cover the stand with rope. I will take some pics with my fids on it.
  18. And I bought a 'parrot stand' too.
  19. I bought a new camera this noon. The video function is better and more efficient than my former's. Tested 2 shots here.
  20. My Grey threw up on bumpy rides not on smooth rides. By keeping her in the cage eliminates the problem of throwing up.
  21. Should get one of those. You don't have to worry they will fly away.
  22. It took me many months to get Koko to socialize with kids. But she would only socialize with them in the playground. 2 days ago while I was taking Koko out for a walk, a young kid came running to me wanting to pet Koko. I warned him that Koko would bite. He didn't heed my warning and went to touch Koko's wing. Koko bit his thumb. It seemed to me Koko had given him a hard bite but the boy claimed it wasn't painful. I doubted that. I will be extra careful the next time not to allow kids to simply touch my Grey.
  23. In that case they should get a Kakapo.
