1. I took Koko with me to the gym this morning. The weights are too heavy for Koko to lift. Here are the pics of Koko enjoying herself in the gym. Koko trying to lift the dumbbell.
2. Afraid of being bitten again, my wife placed the bowl on the fridge this morning. Koko didn't want to drink and wanted to toss the bowl. My wife took the bowl away and placed it on the cabinet. Koko wanted to toss the bowl again. Finally, my wife had to hold the bowl and Koko drank from there. She is such a demanding parrot. But this time no biting.
3. May I borrow Beau to clean up Koko's feathers?
4. I normally put a little health drink in a small stainless steel bowl and placed on the fridge for Koko to drink. After drinking, Koko would carry the bowl, walked to the edge and dropped on to the floor. To prevent her from dropping the bowl, my wife prefers to hold the bowl tight and Koko would drink from her arm. After drinking, Koko would try to take the bowl from my wife's grip. My wife wouldn't allow her to do that. After a couple of failed attempts to remove the bowl, she thought of a brilliant idea. Yesterday, as usual she couldn't get to take the bowl after finishing her health drink, Koko gave my wife a hard bite. My wife released her grip and Koko quickly grabbed the bowl and dropped on the floor. How cunning!

Post edited by: dhorje, at: 2009/11/22 07:32
5. Congrats on your new Amazon. He looks beautiful.
6. Probably she was curious about your fingers. Was it the 1st time you carry the cage with her in it? I carry my Grey's cage with her in it to the back of the house every night for bedtime. She nipped my fingers lightly every time I did that.

Cockatoo

I would love to but I don't have the space for another parrot. In fact, I bought 2 new foldable cages, 1 for Mocha and 1 for Koko. I can't set up the new cage for Koko because of space constraint. I have to get a bigger house.

Cockatoo

I went to buy 2 cages today. This is one of the cockatoos in the petshop. This is the new cage I bought for Mocha. I put Koko into this cage to see if both of them could get along. The moment Koko stepped in the cage, Mocha attacked immediately. Koko was stunned by the aggression shown by Mocha. I had to hold Mocha back to stop him from attacking. I never expected Mocha to be so aggressive. Poor Koko.
9. My Grey is approx 16 months old. I guess it must be the palm nuts that keep the beak in tip top condition.
10. Koko was lucky that Mocha ignored her. Sometimes Mocha would give Koko a hard peck to the head but Koko still walked to Mocha for scritches. My Grey is not so smart.
11. This morning my wife and I took our babies out for a walk. Mocha playing with toy.
12. Joolesgreyuk wrote: LOL! Don't let the pics deceive you. Mocha is smaller than Grey.
13. After having harness trained Mocha for about a week, I decided to take her to the playground this morning. Video of Mocha in the playground. Post edited by: dhorje, at: 2009/11/08 14:21

Post edited by: dhorje, at: 2009/11/08 14:29
14. Their objective was Mocha. They followed us home. I was worried because they were getting low.
15. I took Mocha out for morning walk after I had done it with Koko. As I walked not far away from my house, a flock of crows flew circling us. There were easily 50-60 of them. They flew lower and lower and I had to turn back. As soon as I entered my house, all of them dispersed. I waited for a few minutes before continuing my walk. Those crows really knew Mocha is a new kid on the block.
16. My wife was preparing breakfast in the kitchen this morning. She was taken by surprise by Mocha who flew to the kitchen out of sudden. Mocha is always caged as he is banned from flying freely in the house. Our naughty Koko opened the door of the cage for Mocha to fly out. My wife had to run forth and back to get Mocha back into the cage. As my wife was putting Mocha back into the cage, Koko laughed, "Hehehehehe". Koko must be thinking it was funny.

Post edited by: dhorje, at: 2009/11/05 01:51
17. Koko average at 430g. She is small compares to other AG I have seen.
18. I am feeding this berry to Koko too.
19. We spent about 10 minutes on outdoor walk this morning. Mocha perched still on my arm and enjoyed the walk. He enjoyed the call of other birdies until a crow flew past us. Mocha immediately went on defense mode. He knew by instinct that a crow is a threat. He didn't panic and try to fly away. He knew Papa would protect him.
20. AG was never in my list. My dream was a Macaw or a Sulfur Cockatoo. When I decided to get a parrot, I was shortlisting an Amazon or an Eclectus. We ended up owning an AG because my wife said its colors are unique unlike others colorful parrots which are so common.
21. There are various brands of O2 on market. Cellfood is one of them. The one I use is a similar product. I have been feeding my fids O2 drops for the past 1 year +. Koko swallowed some dish wash detergent some months back. I used O2 plus spirulina and vit C to detox her for 3 consecutive days.

Post edited by: dhorje, at: 2009/10/29 15:34
22. Don't blame yourself for what had happened. It was an accident. If I were you I would give the fids O2 drops to detox the toxic fume that they had inhaled.
