  1. I paid Cocoa for MYR1900. The price ranges from MYR2000 to MYR4500 each in Malaysia. Breeding pair usually cost at MYR3000 per pair.
  2. I think Spock is going to turn into a Hollow Grey. LOL!
  3. This morning's flight. We have an audience here watching Cocoa flying or maybe looking for breakfast. 240ft flight shot taken at a different angle, in between take off and landing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYaAhSLCq2o Cocoa flew back to me for the 1st time.
  4. Cocoa went hiking again this morning.
  5. KL Bird Park is doing an exhibition at a mall promoting their park to the public in conjunction with the ongoing school holidays. Here are the pics of the fids.
  6. I replaced the old line with a new 120ft to make 240ft flying distance. This is Cocoa's new record for outdoor flight on harness. As you can see in the video, I was standing at the end of the field. That is the max. distance I can get in the field. No more new records for the time being. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T15e7b9QGQ
  7. Instead of the usual morning walk around the neighborhood, I took Cocoa to the nearby forest for hiking. This trail is very popular among hikers. These pics were taken on June 6th 2010 - last Sunday.
  8. Glad to hear they are going to replace a new one.
  9. June 5th 2010. Morning walk after rain. This is our usual route. The photo session was cut short because it was going to rain again.
  10. It must be a defective one. I have 3 harnesses and have been using them for over a year. Other than badly chewed the cord is still well attached to the harness. I always pull the cord to make sure that it won't snap before taking out my grey.
  11. Cocoa making an S-shape flight rather than her usual straight line flight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsgBoWoY2k8 As I was approaching Cocoa after her 'S' flight, she flew to me instead of perching on the bar which she normally did. I assumed that she didn't want to play on the bar anymore. I took her to the nearby bench to rest for awhile before proceeding with the last flight. She took off as usual in her last set of flying exercise for the evening. As she was approaching the bar Cocoa didn't want to land and she flew away from it. The line then entangled to a tree and she flew zig zag and the line got caught in another tree and she crashed into my daughter who was sitting on the bench. I quickly ran to her rescue and removed the line. I let her settle down before going home. These are the pics taken after her flight ordeal.
  12. My mom in law has a plantation. I can collect the nuts as many as I like.
  13. Took some videos this morning. Here are the 2 best. Cocoa's new record 200ft flight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kF3LrU9c4aU Unplanned recall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHr6rCgrGNU
  14. I bought organic peanut butter without sugar and salt.
  15. I have never seen a green palm nut in the plantation. Only the ripe ones are harvested. I feed 1 nut 5X per week.
  16. My Grey was afraid when she 1st encountered a barking dog. Now she barks back when she hears dogs barking.
  17. My Grey is 2 years old and her feathers are still dark gray instead of light gray (more like silver) as I have seen in others.
  18. Please do not place the cage next to the TV. The EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) emitted by the TV is bad for your Grey.
  19. Cocoa took a few punches from us. My daughter trying to break Cocoa's neck.
  20. This morning I took Cocoa out for her usual flying exercise. I pulled the line to the max. (200 ft flying distance). Cocoa flew and landed perfectly on the bar. I had to jog after her as she flew. When I reached her, I told Cocoa that she flew 200ft. She replied "woo". She was impressed with her performance. She did 5 sets of 200ft, total of 1000ft. And I jogged for 1000ft too. "woo"
  21. Last Sunday I went to a health food store to replenish our soon to finish rice bran powder. http://www.cosway.com.my/product/health/nn_ricebran%28sugarfree%29.htm We have been consuming this rice bran for a year and Cocoa loves it too. When we (Cocoa and I) entered the store, the lady boss was on the line discussing about the store's signboard. Next to her was a lady cashier. I ordered my goods. After making my purchase, I told the cashier the rice bran was for my parrot (Cocoa was sitting on my shoulder). On hearing that, the lady boss who was still busy discussing over the phone, told the other side that she would call back. She put down her phone and chatted with me about Cocoa. I never expected Cocoa was more important than her signboard.
  22. My Grey is still doing it but not all the time. When she was not in eating mood, she would use her foot to pick up the chopped fruits, took a bite and threw on the floor.
  23. There is nothing wrong with your Grey. Mine behaves like yours too except when she is eating her favorites.
