  1. I have had Louie for 2 years now and he does not really molt oodles of feathers but will lose one or two now and then. I have a whole bunch of his beautiful long feathers for which I hope someday to find a purpose. Sorry, can't be more help but Louie also is just a happy go lucky zon with a friendly personality. Looking forward to seeing if he stays this fun loving guy when he turns 5.
  2. Excellent, going at Romero's pace. Give him time and I believe there is a pet or tickle or two on the horizon. Patience is the key.
  3. I have been thinking about another canary. I so love their singing. If I get another it will be: http://www.avianweb.com/glostercanaries.html I just love their little monk's cap or perhaps it is a Beatle's haircut.
  4. So Cappy has been very vocal lately and loves to sing. The three amigos, are his background band (I'm sure you can hear them clanging around in the background). [/url]
  5. Thanks Dave, how did you know I was almost out!
  6. I have always loved this picture of Salsa eating with a spoon. Such great manners!
  7. I just purchased one of these airline in cabin carriers. I have not tried it out yet but got it just in case. http://birdcageportal.com/inc/sdetail/943/3647 They have them with solid tops or wire tops. I have a rope bendable perch that I plan to hang from the wire top inside for a perch.
  8. "] "] Mine look the same. Left-footed and food-encrusted beaked.
  9. I live alone so my three parrots have only me and therefore, I am the favorite by necessity. They do have others that they like, my oldest daughter because she always eats their pistachios and will share and my next door neighbor because he is 6'5" and therefore the highest perch in the room. Just give your parrot a chance to get to know others and they will find others that they like as well. Others should relax and invite the parrot(s) to join in if he/they choose.
  10. Just curious. A grey being a wild animal would they not use the less predominant foot for most things and keep the more predominant foot in the ready for defense? Just a thought.
  11. Happy birthday! Look on the bright side, Your day can only get better! Hope your grey's wing is okay, you have been given good advice. Welcome to the Grey family!
  12. Hey Karen, welcome to you and Cosmo. Looking forward to hearing about your 15 year old grey. You must have oodles of tales to tell us! Welcome to the Grey family!
  13. The links weren't here, but they were on the other thread.
  14. I enjoy hearing about Gracie and how the two of you are growing together. Our greys teach us so much, especially patience and to read body language.
  15. Hi Lucy, welcome to you and Odin. I am looking forward to hearing more about Odin.
  16. Hi Nicki, welcome to you and Jude. Looking forward to seeing some pictures and hearing how Jude brightens your home.
  17. My Ana Grey is a TAG and she is the most loving of my three parrots. TAGs, to me, are much different than CAGs. Just give your new friend time to adjust and let her take the lead. Sounds like she enjoyed the head scratches so just go with the flow and enjoy.
  18. I have a male canary and several parrots. Captain Caruso loves to sing but so far the parrots have not taken up his song. They do like to bark like my pug, ring my phone and set off the microwave. I am looking forward to the canary singing as I truly love canaries. If you could record Bobbie singing, I would love to hear it!
  19. Congrats to Simon! I love to watch my birdies as they are so enthusiastic when they find something new to investigate!
  20. Happy Hatchday Talon. Have a wonderful 7th!
  21. I said I would try to have the breeder see my point and I would not have signed the contract but walk away if the breeder would not let me purchase the bird without such a contract. Remember, we both really believe in the same thing. And I worked in a legal office for over 20 years but that too is beside the point. So truce and let's keep your thread on track.
  22. The difference is that I would not sign a contract and than break my word. The breeder met me and apparently liked me and decided I would be an okay parront. She knew I would let the wings grow out, I would not be dishonest about that. We talked to each other quite a bit before I purchased Ana Grey and for about 2 years afterwards. She talked about clipping and I talked about how much Ana Grey loved to fly and zoom through the house. She really loved her babies and knew so did I love Ana Grey. Personal choices.
