  1. My such a nice looking zon! Thanks for sharing Figaro with us!
  2. Well welcome back to you and Chloe! Looking forward to hearing that has been happening in your lives!
  3. Frankly, if the gloves work for you or your hubby and Jellybean is not concerned about them, I think its great if everyone is more comfortable with them on. Bobbing heads are a good thing, my greys do it when they are excited or just happy. As for the whistling, whistle back. My three whistle and I answer back. I believe it is just so they know where and am and that I am close by. Enjoy your new friend.
  4. Great update on your new grey. Nice and slow with lots of patience is truly the way to go. Watch the toe nipping as those parrot beaks are very strong and can take a toe off in an instant. I can't wait to hear more and see some pictures!!
  5. Congratulations on finding Chico so close to home. I am excited for you. Since Chico is a loved and well cared for grey, I agree with Talon, place Chico's cage where he will be permanently placed so that he can acclimate to his home from the beginning. Looking forward to seeing some pictures.
  6. Wonderful pictures! Just priceless. Thank you for sharing your vacation with us!
  7. Hard to tell who is having more fun, you or Issac! Always love Issac's videos.
  8. She certainly is a cutie! Thanks for sharing your sweetie with us. She looks very relaxed and happy.
  9. Congrats on your new grey. Looking forward to hearing more about him.
  10. Going to have to give heartbeat listening a try. Great idea! Thanks!
  11. You are lucky to be able to get to know Tony and learn all about him before his prior owners leave the country. It's a great idea to spend time with Tony and with his prior owners to learn as much as you can about him.
  12. Great pictures of Alfie. Looking forward to hearing more about his talking.
  13. Hi Miked, looking forward to hearing more about your new grey. Welcome to the Grey family!
  14. Yes, it is true our greys are very sensitive to our moods and actions. So we you are uncomfortable or unsure your grey will act accordingly. So relax and so will your grey.
  15. Oh, I am scared! Ha! Well, I have a 5-year old Blue Front Amazon male and he is the same sweet guy he always is so far. But then my gang never went through the terrible twos either. I just count my blessings!
  16. I have old twin bed sheets that I place one over the back of my sofa each morning and in the evening when I put the gang to bed, change it out with a clean one for the next day. I have perches and boings at the windows and throughout my home where my gang sit during the day. They are real good about knowing their places.
  17. My first grey is a TAG so congratulations on your sweet grey. I know you are in for a great long companionship with Storm. Looking forward to watching Storm grow with you.
  18. I have a heart problem, and my parents years ago were very worried about me. I can see where with the worry you have for your son, the time and care that a grey can add to your family can overwhelm you at this time. I hope you find a loving home for your grey. If I still lived in California, I would voluntary to care for your grey until you felt more comfortable with your son's situation and could take him back.
  19. Well, I truly hope you really are "determined to do what it takes and win his trust and let him know that he is home and will be loved" because you will have to have lots of patience and love for this poor confused guy. What is your grey's name? When you say he lost his mate, I am assuming that they were not really breeders just a young male and female who lived together, not nesting. More informationa about this will help. First, relax and let your grey get use to his new home. He is, or course, frightened and unsure of that is happening so talk to him quietly and let he know what you are doing around him. Don't try and touch him, if he is unwilling to be touched. Let him come to you when he is ready. Frankly, I am really excited for you and your new friend and believe with love and patience you will have a true companion for many years. There are oodles of threads about greys at the forum and if you have any questions, just ask. Welcome to the Grey family.
  20. Flowerchik, how about a picture so we can see what you are talking about.
  21. Only my CAG, Sterling Gris, perches on my torchiere lamp. I have my houseplants below it so he fertilizes my plants while he is warming at the light. Great combination if you ask me.
  22. Wow Stevej, would love to hear more about Kobo. Please tell us more about her.
