  1. Please do not hang swinging toys in the travel cage. Swinging toys can swing against your new grey that might not be pleasant and a llittle scarey for your new companion.
  2. I brought each of my greys home in a travel cage. Actually the same ones they have now. I talked to my new grey on the way home and told him what was happening. I would not recommend holding your grey or any companion while driving passenger or driver because you never know when an accident can happen. A treat or two for your grey on the way home would be great. Looking forward to hearing how the trip home goes. Welcome to the Grey family.
  3. Thank you Sanggay for sharing Cocoa with us all these years. I miss this sweet grey and am so glad you have all these wonderful filmed memories of Cocoa. Cocoa was and still is a wonderful and sweet grey.
  4. Hi Pet Lover. What is your grey's name and that of your green parrot. I am looking forward to hear more about your parrots. Welcome to the Grey family!
  5. It is well know here at the Forum how loved Issac is. So glad to hear he's feathers are recovering. Issac is certainly one of my favorite grey's to hear about! Go Issac!
  6. My three parrots love to get sprayed. They come flying and open their wings to get thoroughly soaked. I use a fine nozzle sprayer and spray up at them not at them. Not in the face/eyes. They usually sit on their cage top perches (higher than me) and wait for their turn to be sprayed. Try lightly spraying at first to get your grey use to it.
  7. Certainly sounds like something my flock would like and eat! Thanks!
  8. Thanks all. Sterling Gris had is favorite breakfast: eggs with peas and carrots. Dinner is now on its way. I enjoy sharing hatchdays with all. Love those Greys!
  9. Welcome Rosita. What a beautiful lady! Looking forward to getting to know her!
  10. So March 9th. Sterling Gris is still a big lug of a guy who bullies his way around. He loves to eat and to talk and talk. He sings and even has his favorite team "Go Giants". My youngest has decided that Sterling will someday be hers and so teaches him to say things she thinks are cute. "Sheshe loves diamonds." "Go Giants" (are Giants football or basketball or is it baseball, I have no idea) a California team whichever. Sterling is a very sweet CAG and Louie, the zon, thinks he needs to protect "lil" Sterling and when I put Sterling in his cage for the night, Louie flies at my head to get me to stop. Doesn't work but he tries. Ana Grey just tolerates him and feeds him treats. To her he really is a baby. When I first got Sterling 3 years ago, in August, Ana Grey would sit on my shoulder while I fed Sterling his evening formula. She was then and still now very motherly towards him. Anyway, Happy Hatchday Sterling Gris! You are still my baby no matter how big you get.
  11. When you say that Kelsey comes out of his cage does that mean he flies around or walks around. Does he step up for you? Have you acquired a new cage already. Is his old cage the size of a parakeet or canary cage. A few details please.
  12. Very cute pictures. Glad you caught the little culprits. Think of it this way: It could have been worse. One or both could have deposited a bodily gift and the chef unknowingly continued with the yummy preparation.
  13. None of my parrots like almonds at all. They are pistachio lovers. I purchase unsalted pistachios for them. They have expensive tastes.
  14. Cute Dave very cute... and I was about to relate my bare incident! Too bad.
  15. Love to hear that Smokey is fitting in nicely with the family. Love stories.
  16. Pretty little lady. Welcome to the Grey family!
  17. Hi ocguy106. What is your grey's name? Very happy that things worked out for you with your baby grey. Welcome to the Grey family.
  18. Hey Jojo. Would love to hear a little more about you. Do you have a grey? Are you getting a grey? Details please. We are a nosey bunch here and love to share!
  19. Wonderful for you both. You both let each other in. I see such growth and happiness for both you. Relax and enjoy!
  20. This is a sad situation. Personally, I would contact the new owners and ask if all is going well with the re-homing. And as Timbersmom suggested ask the new caregivers to contact me first if they ever decide to rehome these parrots.
  21. I talk to my parrots all the time. They understand so much and really want to be part of the family/flock.
  22. Wonderful start to a new adventure for Smokey. Thank you for sharing yours and Smokey's meeting. Welcome to the Grey family!
