  1. What nice band of re-homes. I am impressed. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of them all. Welcome to the Grey family!
  2. I too have had problems getting on and also a page in a foreign language that has asked if I want to have it translated. I have not translated it.
  3. Hi Linda, welcome to the GreyForums. Thank you for rehoming these beautiful zons. Zons are not like greys, they try very hard to understand what their parronts (owners) are asking of them. All the parront has to do is tell/show them. Yes it is best to keep the two apart until you can read their body language. Talk to your zons and watch and listen for their answers. As for the plucking well, it might have been the other zon who pulled the feathers. It might be that the zon plucked his/hers feather because he/she lost the original owner. We can guess all we want but only the zons know what happened. I would take the zons to an avian vet, and it has to be an avian vet to see if they two are healthy. Aloe Vera is a wonderful thing to spray on plucking. It is soothing. You do have to make sure that the wet feathers are dry before night so spray in the AM or early afternoon. Dave007 has great information in the Health Room so please check it out. There is oodles of information in the rooms of this forum so read, read, read. I commend you for taking on these older zons. Thank you.
  4. It is cold, wet and dreary here in Washington State. So just a reminder everyone to feed our wild birds in this time of year when the wild berries, seeds and such are at their lowest. I always put yesterday's parrot food leftovers outside for the wild birds in my neighborhood. Every little bit helps. So remember be kind to our wild winged neighbors. I love to watch the bluejays and other winter birds eating with such delight.
  5. My CAG, Sterling Gris, is my talker. He repeats everything, but will not talk with a camera on. He does mix up phrases but only until he gets it straight in his mind. His worse. The phrase was to be: "Sheshe wants a cocktail." It came out: "Sheshe wants a cock." This lasted a few weeks but is now corrected to "Sheshe wants a cocktail". I am very grateful.
  6. My TAG is Ana Grey who is 6 years old and my CAG is Sterling Gris who is 3 years old. Both have lived with me since their respective weanings.
  7. Oh no tranquilizers. Please try Talon's suggestions or another change of atmosphere/scenery. Hemp seed is also supposed to help with plucking. Try other methods other than tranquilizers please.
  8. I hope you can rescue and find a loving home for this sweet lost parrot. Good Luck!
  9. Oh great post. Great laugh! Thanks for my morning smile!
  10. Looks like Europa is adjusting nicely. If the new perches have a way of placing Europa's favorite treat on them, that might help. But as others have posted it all has to come at Europa's pace. Just enjoy her great company and watch and learn.
  11. My Ana Grey, TAG, does my long sigh. Sterling Gris, CAG, does my late pug's bark. Sterling Gris also has my angry voice down reallllll well.
  12. Neither of my greys are biters but I refer not to let them sit on my shoulder because I do not like poop down my back. They are both flighted and sit on my arm all the time but never on my shoulders. I also, do not let them close to my face as I like my eyes, nose and other facial parts and they are prey animals.
  13. When we cannot found our greys we always panic. Trust me, I know the feeling. Glad Beautiful is back in her cage. Relax have a soothing drink.
  14. I love it. Your birdies should be very happy. It's great looking and I am truly envious. Good job!

    Five Facts

This is a great thread, I would like to see it resuscitated. I will list five more facts about me: 1. I am the second of 7 children in a family 2. I managed a legal office 3. I have been in several countries including China, France, England, Australia, Canada, Mexico... 4. I have had brain surgery 5. My oldest is a doctor
  16. Great pictures of Europa. It certainly looks like you, your wife and Europa are going to be a great family. Moving at "grey time" is always time consuming but so worth the effort. I commend you and your wife.
  17. Perhaps this should be in the 4 the Birds Room
  18. Would love to see some pictures of your hubby's new friend and hear about how things are going. We do have an Amazon Room (hint, hint)
  19. I so love it when my CAG learns new words. Our greys are always surprising us!!
  20. Great pictures. What a happy and relaxed grey you have.
  21. So glad Gabby is okay. Sterling Gris, CAG, at least once a month falls off his perch. At first this got me up in the middle of the night but now, 4 years later, I am use to the sound in the middle of the night. Luckily, he has never gotten hurt must be all the padding on his tush.
  22. Great thread. I would say to Ana Grey (7) my TAG. I am certainly glad you are such a great flyer, BUT when you hid and do not answer or come when I call you, I get a little, okay a lot, exasperated. Hunting you down and then watching you grin, oh yes, you are grinning, I can tell, when I do finally get you!!!! Other than that you are a perfect little lady you step up beautifully and go back into your cage with no problems. I do wish you would talk again, oh you do ask for nuts but that is about all. Is it because Sterling never shuts up? Sterling Gris, (4) my CAG. You are a great talker and flyer. You eat just about anything and alot. You do not like to go back into your cage and I do have to threaten and hunt you down to get you back into your cage, but you are a great birdy. Both of you are respectful of my sleep time and do not make a racket until you hear me up. Thank you for only chewing on your toys and not my furniture. I could not ask for two better greys.
  23. Welcome to you and your new grey. Looking forward to getting to know both of you.
  24. The aviary is great. Your birdies have got to love it!!!!
  25. Thank you Talon for this honor. I will do my best to live up to your expectations..... (pssst.....After you tell me what they are!!!!!) Truthfully, I am very lucky that there are some great Senior Moderators to help guide me along the way. And thank you Grey family for your kind words of encouragement. I will do my best to help everyone enjoy this wonderful Grey Forums Family.
