  3. Luv the birdie on the tail perch Dave, priceless!!! (big smiles)
  4. You know Dave for some reason, I know in my heart that you have oodles of stories to share with us if you would just let them rip!!!!!!
  5. As you all know, I have two greys, a tag and a cag. My tag, Ana Grey, is now 6 and can talk but now chooses to just ask for nuts. Now Sterling Gris, the CAG, ( 3 in August) loves to talk and sing. Frankly when Sterling Gris began to talk and talk and talk, Ana Grey more or less stopped. Sterling Gris says what he wants and can repeat anything. feed me, feed me I'm a starving birdie Open the door I want to come out You are my sunshine Hello gorgeous happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you My youngest daughter has decided that Sterling Gris will be hers one day and has chosen a few phrases for him. Like: Sheshe loves diamonds and his newest: I want a cock My youngest daughter wanted him to say, I want a cocktail but what she has gotten is "I want a cock". I am sure my Sterling Gris is not the only grey to make his own phrases.... so what does your grey say that yours has made his/her own. Come on give it up and let us all have a good laugh.
  6. Hi Lori, please tell us a little more about yourself. Do you have a grey now or are you getting one soon? Details! Oh and Welcome to the Grey family!
  7. I am delighted that Brutus is home. Very happy that she was found by honest people. So many people do believe "finders keepers".
  8. Update on Toby. If you will remember, Toby was cage bond for the years he lived with his prior owners since he was 2. He is now 33 and I have had him about a month give or take a little. Anyway, when I let my parrots out, they are all flyers, I help Toby with some take offs so that he will have to flap his wings and well- fly. He is getting to be pretty good at it. Louie, my other BF zon, wants so to be Toby's friend but Toby is not willing but, yesterday Louie flew off to the bird room from the living room through the kitchen, down the hall to the bird room and Toby was right behind him, flying his heart out. It was a wonderful sight to see and hear two BF zons flying across my home one after the other. Magnificent, simply magnificent!!! Louie is determined that Toby become active and bless his big heart for his efforts. Go Louie.....pay attention Toby, Louie is truly a good friend!
  9. Wish I lived closer as I am looking for a cockatiel. I have four parrots but for some reason I have it in my head that a cockatiel is going to be my next rehomed parrot. I will find one, I just know it.
  10. Why does the parrot wear a raincoat? So he could be polyunsaturated.
  11. I am very sorry for your loss of Bogart. I feel in my heart that our parrots understand each of us better than we will ever know. Maalik is a true jewel.
  12. What a sweet cuddle birdie. Priceless.
  13. I sent off for 4 of these to give them a try. Have four active parrots so got to keep them busy. Will let you all know how these work out.
  14. Hooray!!!!! I am sending out a heartful of joy to Brutus and you Sharon. Now nail those screens in and Thank the Lord!!!!
  15. Do not give up hope. Be strong and don't stop having the will to keep looking.

  17. So sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your advice with us.
  18. Have you tried just relaxing and sitting out where you normally take Brutus and call to him as you would normally do. Clear your mind and just think Brutus.
  19. Welcome to the Grey family Jotoeng. Smokey and Olaf sound like wonderful greys. I am looking forward to learning more about them.
  20. Thank you all for the great Hatchday wishes for Ana Grey! She says come on over and she will share her birdie bread anytime!!!!!
  21. Welcome to the Grey family Tyler_111. I was a member here before I got my first grey and the members are great people. If you decide a grey is right for you at this time, remember that you should set a schedule that you are willing to keep. The biggest mistake I believe that people make is to spend oodles of time with their brand new grey at the start and then slowing down. Being over possessive and in the greys face all the time. Then when the grey gets use to that schedule, the owner changes because the grey is no longer a "new toy." Now owner wonders why the grey starts to shriek and demand attention when it is not the grey demanding attention as the grey wondering why he has suddenly been abandoned..... So make sure you treat your grey as you will on a forever basis. Do not over stimulate your grey for a week or two and then slow down. Be consistent, greys expect consistency. They try very hard to understand their new parronts, so you must do the same in return of a great forever relationship. I look forward to watching you and your new grey grow together if you believe the time is now. Enjoy!
  22. Today is Ana Grey's 6th Happy Hatchday. She is now a little lady and just as sassy as ever. Ana Grey is/was my first parrot and now I have 4. She is still the queen of the roost and the only female. Today will be special out of the cage time just for her and me. HAPPY 6TH HATCHDAY ,MY PRECIOUS LITTLE LADY!!!!!
  23. Safe thoughts for Brutus. Be strong and positive. Prayers going Brutus' way.
  24. When I had my first parrot chipped the vet was going to sedate her and I said no, that I would prefer that she not. I believe it is because the humans don't want to be bitten. The vet did as I wished and now their policy is not to sedate. The vet learned something new and I now have peace of mind about my parrots hopefully being returned more quickly. Personal choice and one that parronts have to make on their own.
  25. My parrots did not show any signs of being micro-chipped. It is a personal choice that a person has to make on their own. My pug has been chipped since she was young and she is now 14 years old.
