  1. How about the name gypsy for your little traveler, Judy. That might be appropriate for the little vagabond. Congratulations on your new fid!!!!
  2. Susan I will definitely be praying for a quick and complete recovery for your friend's amazon, Hotshot. Godspeed for good health for you sweet Hotshot.
  3. Alfie certainly did outfox you Lyn!!!!!
  4. Loved the poem Lyn and the BIG GRIN it gave me!!!!! Thanks!!!
  5. Issac will be just fine. He is very bonded to you and if you are there and calm and talk to him and let him know what is going on, everything will be fine. I take my Ana Grey to my daughter's home for overnights and it doesn't even phase her because she is with me. So be calm and relaxed and talk to Issac and all will go smoothly. Can't wait to hear about your new digs!!!
  6. Great videos!!! Totally loved to watch them! The playstand is wonderful!
  7. I hope your grey's screaming is calmer today Paul. I have always found that if I tell Ana Grey what I am doing it helps her to go along with it. When I leave the room I always say "I'll be back" and she is normally quiet and waits patiently. Our greys are very insightful and understand a lot of what we are saying so give it a try and see if it helps.
  8. Very cute pictures of your little lady!!!!
  9. Well I have a TAG and my Avatar is a picture of her at 4 months old. There is also a picture of her at the bottom of this post. So I can honestly say, my TAG's looks changed quite a bit! Congratulations on your new grey baby. Can't wait to hear more about her. Please introduce yourself in the Welcome Room so everyone will get a change to say HI!
  10. Hi Lori, great intro by the way!!! Glad you decided to join the Grey Family. I look forward to hearing more from you and being a part of Spencer's homecoming. Welcome to the family!
  11. Well, which grey likes you the best??? That's how I chose my grey, or shall I say my grey chose me. You think two is hard to choose from, try four!!!! I was going to take the baby home, had already names it. Sweetpea. Because that was the one the breeder considered the sweetest. I had never seen the babies until I went to pick up my new grey who was 3 hours away. Well "Sweetpea" nipped at me and wanted to go back inside her cage! The one who chose me was the oldest, my Ana Grey. So the breeder, my grandson and I decided the choice had been made and I have never regretted it. Ana Grey chose the right way, she chose me. I agree with the others, let the breeder/pet shop wean the greys completely. I believe it is hogwash about if you feed the babies formula you will bond better with them. Nonsense, my grey is my friend and she trusts me totally. Frankly I hear a little reluctance in your post about handling the baby greys. Greys do nip/bite, they do scratch with their claws so if this is going to be a problem with you, perhaps you should think twice about becoming a grey owner. They bite, they scratch, they are messy eaters and they do poop a lot. So if I wasn't confident in being able to handle any of these habits then I would just walk away from becoming a parrot owner. You have a beautiful cat on your shoulders in your Avatar. Cats and birds are not natural friends, please think about that before you bring a parrot home. I don't mean to be negative its that there are a lot of things to consider before become a bird owner. I see that you have been a member of the Grey Forums for a very long time, I commend you for joining to learn about greys. There is a lot of information in the threads here that can help you in so many ways to become a great parront.
  12. See what a little taste of freedom can do to our sweet greys. Hopefully you can find a solution to outsmart your little escape artist!!! Good luck!!!
  13. Very cute Charlie, you are on your way to becoming a star!!
  14. Another great update on Issac and how he is developing under your loving care. Thanks for sharing him with us!
  15. So sorry Sherry that you are having a problem with trusting Winter. I hope your bird whisper will be able to help you with this fear. Our greys are very sensitive to our feelings so you must relax or Winter will also react to your uncertainty. When my grey drops her head it is because she wants me to scratch the top of her head for her and sometimes if I stop before she wants me to, she will nip at my finger to get me to keep on scratching. Birds use their beaks to test the stability of a perch so perhaps that is why your grey is biting you when you pull away. I use my arm or my hand to let my grey step up, I just always have as I believe that is a more stable way to perch her. I personally would continue to let your grey out to go on top of the cage, why not as you are able to get him back in with a bribe. Winter needs to get use to his new home. He certainly sounds like a wonderful grey, so relax, talk to him and let him get use to his new home and family.
  16. Paulo, I am so sorry for the loss of Lolita. It was heartbreaking to hear that your little sweetheart is now gone. I can understand the need to fulfill your home with the love of a parrot again as they are so much a part of us once we get them in our hearts. I look forward to hearing about your new babies in the Amazon Room. Be strong and maybe you can open your heart to another grey someday as a tribute to your sweet Lolita.
  17. Great pictures of Joey and his bath!!!
