  1. LOL!!! To that specific song Lambert so do I (bob my head that is)!!!!! LOL!!!!
  2. Louie my zon bobs his head first thing in the morning when I turn on the birdroom lights. He knows she will be getting breakfast and then out of his cage and he is excited. Ana Grey does the bobbing when she sees something she likes/wants like a nut or me just taking the time to converse with her. So to me it is a sign of my birds' excitement and pleasure.
  3. I named my female grey Ana because I like the name is sounds so delicate and regal and the Grey got attached because it just sounded great. Ana Grey is a very sweet and regal little lady so it fits. Now Sully is aka Solomon. When the pet store got he was called Butch because when they got him he was totally plucked but I couldn't call him such a name because some day he will have a royal robe of green feathers to cover his plucked body. And he is working on his new robes slowly but someday. Anyhow, Sully is always stately and regal albeit naked or not. Louie is such a clown and he came with the name so I wasn't going to change it as he called himself Louie already. Now that I know his personally, the name fits like a glove.
  4. This is great news Karl that the vet was able to help get Pickles on the road to recovery. You are a good and loving parront!!!! I look forward to seeing some pictures of Pickles.
  5. That's quite interesting but no, Ana Grey speaks my language and if I do something she dislikes she flies to a perch and says, "Stop that" in a meaningful tone! I would be interested to hear more.
  6. What a great story. Totally loved it. Ana Grey will do the "I'll really in charge" act with me now and then and I do the same snatch and grab with her and she always loses. After a little time in her cage she is good as gold and very loving for a while at least. Great story made my day and what a great giggle!
  7. Looks like a great camera! Great pictures of your flock, at least the ones who like to be photographed!!! ">
  8. Yes when I got Ana Grey the breeder had clipped her so I had to wait for over a year before her wings grew out. She is a marvelous flyer now and loves to maneuver here and there all over the house.
  9. For my ekkie, who doesn't like to fly I have climbing ropes coming off his cage so he can get in and out as he pleases perhaps that would also help Rocky. This is just a knotted sisal rope that hang down from the side of his cage and Sully uses it to aid his coming an going. He walks all over the house sometimes and I just have to watch out for him so I don't step on him accidentally.
  10. You really should take Pickles to an avian vet for a check up. It might be that he is lacking/low on blood calcium and needs lots of sunlight and good green leafy vegetables to help him on his way.
  11. And he will, just give him time to grow those feathers back in. Have him checked out by an avian vet when you get a chance to see what issues he might have and with good food and love he should blossom.
  12. My eclectus is a non-flying unless I launch him off from my hand or have placed him on a hanging perch then he will glide/fly down to the floor. He was clipped for about 7 1/2 years before I got him and he just prefers not to fly. He is also a plucker and we are working hard on that problem. I have had Sully for about 1/1/2 years now.
  13. I had the choice of four weaned young greys. I talked to the breeder at least once a week and she decided the youngest, which I named Sweetpea would be the best for me as Sweetpea was the quietest and most mellow of the four. I of course was delighted. When all four greys were finally weaned I drove a few hours to go get Sweetpea. The breeder, Millie, took Sweepea from the cage and she immediate bite me and ran back into the cage. The next one was calm and liked to sit on my hand and was the oldest. The next two just totally ignored me and wanted back in the cage. I asked for the second back and she stayed with me and the breeder, my grandson and I decided this was my grey and she had chosen me. I was disappointed as I had my heart set on the youngest, but the oldest was the one who chose me and it was the right decision and I was grateful for the wisdom of Millie to bring the babies out one at a time to present me to them.
  14. It might be the sense of smell that is working for Chili. We each have our own smell or scent so to say. We had mirror twin teenage girls in our neighbor years ago and the only way to tell them apart was that they had different styles of clothing/likes as they grew and of course different boyfriends.
  15. Welcome to the Grey family thenabrd. I look forward to hearing more about Iona and Athena and seeing some pictures when you get a chance!
  16. Congratulations on the breakthrough Gwen. Excellent advice from Judy. I look forward to hearing more about Roscoe.
  17. So sorry for the loss of the baby ekkie Bonnie. So very sorry.
  18. Hi Jodie, I commend you for wanting to take good care of sweet Boo. If I was in your place I would take Boo to an avian vet to get the proper answers to your questions. Only an avian vet can really lead you to the proper route to take the correct steps to help Boo recover more quickly.
  19. It's great to hear that Cosmo is fine. Our greys are such little daredevils that they are always getting into trouble one way or another.
  20. When I read some of the things others post, I have to smile because Ana Grey appears to be a little Angel in comparison and therefore I am a very lucky little old lady!!!!
  21. Louie wants to let me touch him as he hangs around close to me, its just when I reach out to him he does, you know, that biting thing!!!! However, I am blessed and my birds are great guys and gal and very loving and friendly.
  22. Can you share what happened with us?
  23. Hey Julie, you are certainly very missed!!!!! I was quite envious of Judy's visit with you as you both had too much fun, without us all here. Oh the reason for this post.... Happy Hatchday Beau!!!!
