  1. I give my African Grey Pretty Bird for African Greys. Her poops are their normal colors, no rainbow shades here! I have tried other brands, Harrison, and Zupreem and none of my fids like them. I make my own everyday food for my parrots, and pellets are just an "if you don't like the menu you can eat pellets" thing in my home. A supplemental more or less. I prefer fresh veggies for my little friends.
  2. Audi is certainly a cutie. I will enjoy watching her grow under your care! Thanks for sharing your new baby with us!
  3. I have a TAG and she is fearless. I don't have to worry about new toys scaring her or loud noises or colors or any of the things I hear about CAGs being afraid of. Ana Grey is very independent and can play by herself, no problem. I believe it is the way a parrot is raised and the way he/she is cared for that determines the personality of a parrot. Just like a dog or cat. If you build trust with your parrot and give he/her no reason to fear or be leery of you, how can you go wrong. Choose the parrot that appeals to you, in my opinion, that is what you should do.
  4. LOL!!! Had a good laugh at Sullivan and your two Bow Wows!!!! I can't wait to see the pictures!!!!
  5. Sullivan is smashing!!!!! How old did you say he was!!!!!! In his 30's?????
  6. Adult Truths (These are good) 1. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood. 2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong. 3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger. 4. There is great need for a sarcasm font. 5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? 6. Was learning cursive really necessary? 7. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die. 8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. 9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired. 10. Bad decisions make good stories. 11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day. 12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again. 13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to. 14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call. 15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well. 16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay. 17. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option. 18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger. 19. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said? 20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters! 21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever. 22. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. 23. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time. 24. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1924. That means it only took 50 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. Ladies.....Quit Laughing. Heal the past, live the present, dream the future.
  7. I love the last photo of Nilah, what a little flirt she is!!!!!
  8. Fiction. You could probably escape an alligator if you ran in a zigzag. You probably also could escape one if you ran in a straight line. But the likelihood that an alligator would ever chase you on dry land is so low that the old adage is more joke than genuine advice. It simply doesn't apply. They don't like to run long distances. It's very rare for an alligator to chase a human on dry land. And the average human could easily outrun an alligator, zigzagging or not -- it tops out at a speed of around 11 miles per hour, and it can't maintain that speed for very long [source: San Diego Zoo]. FACT OR FICTION: The hummingbird is the only bird that can fly backwards. (Nice game Ray P)
  9. Welcome to you Cosmo!!!! Can't wait to hear more about you!!!
  10. Come on you Amazon People where are the pictures. Louie- Blue Front Amazon, loves the water and it is hard to find the right picture BUT if there can only be one and I can only show his wet face and chest or his beautiful outspread feathers (the feathers only show from the back with spread wings) here we go: I'm Louie, the BIG GUY, wet and sexy!!!!! Look at Me!!!!! Sheesh, I'm handsome!!!!! Come on Baby, let the good times roll!!!!! Note: As a moderator, I am exempt from the contest, but I wanted to show off Louie as he so loves the water!!!!! Look at the twinkle in his eyes!!!!!
  11. Since Ana Grey was little I have always told her "no" when she does something I don't like. "no bite", or if she does something wrong, say nips my blinds, I say "stop that",, or "that's not nice". She understands "stop that" or "no" because if I do something she doesn't like, like flick her off my shoulder if she nibbles on my ear, she says, "Stop that" right back at me to let me know I have done something unexceptable too. Ana Grey also understands tone of voice. When I want her to go to sleep I always say "nite, nite, in your cage" She of course doesn't want to go in her cage so she flies away. But when I change my tone of voice when I get frustrated from chasing her, she immediately steps up and let's me put her in her cage. Our fids are very intelligent and if you watch them and listen to them as they do to us and learn their gestures, tones and body language just like they do ours, the trust understanding will grow because our feathered friends so much want to be part of our flock; we just need to take the time to learn to read each other.
  12. What great pictures. What a beautiful flock you have!
  13. You need to take closer look at the pictures I post (LOL)!!!!! My zon, Louie the Destructo Zon, shreds the wooden toys to toothpick size. LOl!! My Ana Grey is also a chewer. Post your pictures and show us your busy and happy parrot!!!
  14. Hi John, looking forward to traveling to find your grey with you. Welcome to the family!
  15. Ana Grey never poops on me and has never messed on the table. She is quite a lady when it comes to dinner time. That is why she has this privilege of eating with me and I get to have a lunch/dinner partner!!
  16. Oh what a lovely picture. Thank you for sharing it. I needed that!
  17. The breeder and I have mutually decided that Isabella should be returned to the breeder. This has been a hard decision and one that is in the best interest of Isabella and my established flock. I am the only one who really knows my flock, the circumstances of this decision and the only one who has to live with the decisions made here. This will be the end of this thread as far as I am concerned. ###
  18. LOL!!!!! That is too cute!!! Now my ekkie, Sully, he screams when he thinks its time for lights out. Louie, the Zon, he says "nite, nite" "Nite, nite Louie, several times and when I go into the bird room and tap the top of his cage door and say, Nite, nite Louie, he climbs into his cage so I can close the door. Now Ana Grey is a different story because I refuse to chase her around the room, I just turn off the bird room light, say nite, nite and close the door. She then goes to her sleep perch inside her cage and after a while I go in, close her cage door, and tell everyone nite, nite, see you in the morning.
  19. Ana Grey enjoys eating with me. I live alone so it's not a problem and it can be enjoyable for me as well. If I am having something she can eat, I just place some to the side of my plate and she sits on the table and eats it. She is good at eating only that which I have given as her portion. If I am eating something not for her, I just close the bird room door and she eats what is her cage, like the others do. Ana Grey does not walk on the bottom of her cage and she loves showers and baths so her feet are reasonably clean to walk on my table.
  20. I am so very sorry for your sadness but so grateful that you loved Grey so very much that you let her quickly go wrapped in total love and warm embraces. God bless Grey and all those who love her. Grey is flying free.
  21. LOL!!!! Salsa looks like a little dainty sweetheart. But she sure has a big appetite!!! Great post about little Salsa!!!

  24. What my grey does it just talk normally when she has something to say after dark. Sometimes I hear her when I am watching TV in bed. She is probably telling me to "tune the sound down"!!!! LOL!!!
