Tinkerbell -love of a flying CAG in Taiwan
BaxtersMom replied to shanlung's topic in The GREY Lounge
Shanlung, I am a fairly new member to the forum and as a grey owner (about 7 months) You are an inspiration to so many of us. I have read alot of your entries and enjoyed your photos but I plan on going to the very first entry and reading every line and going in all your links in order so I can get the most out of all of them. I appreciate you sharing all this with us. -
Hi. Congradulations on your newest arrival and welcome to the forum. As you already know this is a great place to find lots of information on greys and if you ever have any questions can always ask. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

If that happened to me and after I thought about it some there are 2 things that come to mind. #1 is if you can find their phone number, I would call them and ask to speak directly to a supervisor or a manager. If they are not available I would ask when they would be. I would only discuss the matter with the supervisor or manager and tell them your concerns. A general worker would not be able to help you get your money back or get the rest of your shipment shipped out to you but the higher ups could. #2 and I hate this one but some times it is best, especially if you hate confrontation. Just absorb the loss and never buy from them again. Sometimes it is worth the loss to avoid all the stress of the matter. There is a chance you could get angrier and angrier of how they conduct business and the stress factor in many cases is not worth it. Perhaps report them to the Better Business Bureau, too. Companies should not be allowed to get away with this:angry: I probably would call the supervisor of the company first and get a feel for how it might go. After that phone call you would be able to see if it was worth pursueing further. These are only my opinions. Others might have some better answers for you. Good luck:)

Thanks for the correction Dave. That makes sense.

They do plow over here too and finally came through:) . They did all the highways and main streets first.

Just ran across this post today. Don't know how I missed it. Well, just thought I would agree with the other members. It's good:) I knew about the eyes flashing/dialating in excitement or agression but didn't know it was called pinning. Now those previous posts I read make more sense. :silly: I knew what pinning was, just didn't know what it was called:woohoo: Thanks Dave

Yes, aloe vera is what you need for the dry skin. There is 100% pure Aloe Vera Gel and Aloe Vera Juice. You can find it at Walmarts or your local drugstores. I use the the aloe vera juice and put it in a spray or misting bottle and try to soak all the feathers down to the skin. I have never tried the gel(because I found the juice first) but others have and I think it's just a preference. I would think you would rub it on them do in the dry skin areas. Hope that helps

Oh, cute video. I heard her poetry. I like how she says the woopdeedo:laugh: And Baxter is about 12-13 years old. His personality is 1/2 nosey gumpy old man barking orders (the controller) and a muscian that likes to whistle the blues. Atleast that's how he seems to me. Bella is a doll:) and I think greys do communicate and some even ask for specific items I've heard. Not mine but I've read about so many other birds that even make special requests:laugh:

That is so cute. I do think they know how to use their words in context. When our conure flies past or around Baxters cage he will get all excited and say "Come ere, Come ere" and my eclectus get louds a few times a day and squaks really loud and Baxter will tell him to "Shut Up" or "Knock it off".

Hi and announcing the arrival of Shanti
BaxtersMom replied to DavidH's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Congradulations on bringing Shanti home. I could feel the excitemnt through your post and know you are on cloud nine right now. I like the name too:) -
Thanks Caroline, I have to look on the bright side of it. I do think it's pretty. The down side of it is that once we get hit by the first big snow...we usually don't get warm temps again untill March or April:( We are at the beginning of our big freeze. There are other places that get much more snow than us and colder temps though so I shouldn't complain too much. The weather people are saying we will get hit hard again on Sunday to add to what we got today :pinch:
-
Snow Plows...wow,Canada is really on top of things. We've yet to see one of those go by our house...Still waiting:whistle: Well, lets get dug out...Round 2 is coming Sunday:blink:

That sounds yummy and I think my fids would love it. Yes, please add it to the recipe book:)

Well, the snow storm hit! They were right for once. I'd say we got atleast 9 or 10". I'm staying in today with the exception of going outside to shovel all the lovely white stuff:laugh: Judy, I'm sorry, I didn't know you were in need of snow...I sent it on to Caroline this time:evil: She is quite mad at me right now:laugh: She should be shoveling about now, too:woohoo: Oh yea, for those who wants to see how much snow I got I put photos in the "Off Topic" room called Winter Snow Photos or something like that. It's really pretty when it's fresh. Time for hot chocolate now. I'm taking advantage of this. Judy, Is that tree up yet{Holidays-00020134} Do we need to send you some little elves to help out?{Holidays-000200B0} I love this time of year, too{Holidays-000200B2}

I found your other post but never had any breeding pairs and can't really offer advice. There are several on here that do though and will probably be answering your questions when they come on. If you can get some pictures of them without disturbing them too much we would love to see them.

I know what you mean. I lived in Oklahoma for 20 years, then California for a year..why did I want to come back to Michigan???? I missed the snow of course:laugh: Yes, we are sending it your way. You've got to admit it's pretty when it first happens but the aftermath can be tough.

Post edited by: BaxtersMom, at: 2008/12/19 19:54
