Sorry I'm not much help. Precious seems to be visually oriented, but Greys must be able to smell also.

Concerning pain and shock: Check with you avian vet if it would be all right to add a couple of drops of Rescue Remedy to the drinking water. This is a Bach Flower combination that I have used personally and with other animals. It is non-toxic but it does contain a small amout of ethanol.:huh:

Precious slept on the water bowl for a long time, but now I see her on the boing occasionally. I tnink it's a bird thing in choosing a sleeping spot.:whistle:

When I see photos of the destruction in Brazil I feel sick all over. The government seems helpless to prevent it on one hand and on the other is contributing to it. Manaus is the city where we lived and it was carved out of the rain forest. Photos from space show the vast fires and bare areas that once were lush forests. :ohmy: :angry:

Precious eats polenta mixed with carrots or sweet potato. Maybe baby cereal would be a good addition.
