    I would think the flat top would be much easier to clean and would avoid open flame or coils even if it does have hot spots.

    Usually Precious says, "Do you want to go to bed? I love you," when she wants to go to bed. Now it is before 8p. She awakens or starts talking when she hears me, usually about 8a, occasionally later.
