1. I'm prone to bad asthma attacks and it was quite a worry for me before we got ALfie. Happily, I'm not bothered at all by the dust! I hope Rachael gets what she needs.
2. Good fun Jill - I'm a.... QUAKER PARROT You are playful and demanding of attention. Simple outside, very complex mind. Lol - simple's right!!!
3. Hi Ben, Well done for rescuing an older bird, this little soul sounds in need of some tlc. With regards to keeping him warm I'd agree with the others concerns about a knitted sweater, but here's a thought. Does your grey have a birdy bunk? Mine does, and when I stick my hand in there in the morning it's much warmer in the bunk than out it. Alfies bunk is covered at one end with a loose flap so Alfie can stil go out through "the back door"! Perhaps if you covered both ends like this it would be even warmer in there! That way your grey would have somewhere warm to go when he got a bit chilly, and you would also have an idea of actually how cold he is getting. Obviously you would have to introduce the bunk gradually if he doesn't already have one, but it might be worth considering. Hope you get him sorted one way of the other!
4. Absolutely! What would we do without them! I'm sure if I didn't have this forum, alot of the time I'd be doing housework or something equally as tedious! Seriously though, we do appreciate all the time and effort that is put into keeping this forum what it is. x
5. That's great news! Alfie just turned 2 and has gone through many personality changes - 2 major ones, but we seem to have landed in a happy place!! Enjoy the cuddles - there's nothing like them!
6. That is an excellent looking orb - such fun - bet Issac loves it! Perservere with the showers - it's one of the mistakes I made when Alfie was young and now showertime can be a little.....trying! Thanks for the picture.
7. Glad to hear big bird didn't get his fish supper!! Certainly a stunning looking fellow though, and lovely to see!
8. What a charming little video Maggie - Salsa is a really beautiful bird. Thanks for sharing.

10. I'm glad you all liked it and thanks for looking. Dee, I just made myself comfy and waited! I didn't need to wait all that long though - this morning was the second morning he fed from my hand, and I barely got the camera going today and he was there! Mind I have had a few fruitless sittings too! I guess he was just ready!
11. Cute poem Julie. How long did that take you - I bet it just came to you did it? Thanks for sharing.
12. Lol - I think boy! But then I thought Alfie was a boy, so that means Pepper is probly a girl!!
13. Aw that sucks that you've lost your patterns Dee, however, I've no doubt, that with Kopi providing you with oodles of inspiration your creative juices will flow!! I can't wait to see what the pair of you come up with!!
14. Happy Hatchday Emma!! Hope you have a great day and many happy returns! x
15. Alfies normal bedtime is 10pm, but if we've been away all day, she get's to stay up a bit longer. When we put her to bed at 10, she usually resists, but as soon as the cover gets picked up, she's straight into her birdie bunk and that's her - never a peep. If she get's to stay up untill we go to bed, she goes in willingly at the mere mention of bed! We never hear a peep out of her until we get up in the morning, which varies wildly! She never sleeps in her bunk during the day, but does nap on her perch. She does get very stroppy without her beauty sleep!
16. God Bless those knitters! It's so lovely hearing stories like this - Jill the story about the broody hen is lovely - chickens have amazing characters once you get to know them! You wouldn't believe it!

Broken back?

Good to hear the acupuncture is helping, Kathryn. Thanks for the update...hopefully Vree will continue to improve and your next post will have more good news!
18. That is the most joyful news Dee! Joy is having a wild robin eat from my hand. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/offtopic-discussions/186294-wild-robin.html#186294

Post edited by: pearllyn, at: 2010/03/06 16:56
19. I thought this was amazing and just wanted to share. I don't have a garden at home, so feed the wild birds down at the horses. This cheeky robin is always waiting in my feedshack for a handout (literally!). Having Alfie has really made me aware of how much it takes for this little bird to be brave enough to come on to my hand! It's awesome and a real privelege! Hope you and your's are all well. Lyn & Alfie. xx
20. Lol - pom pom girl!! That does cojur up an image!! Thanks for that Dave!! Alfie kind of took an aversion the the harness at the backend of last year so we quit it for a while. I tried it tentatively last week after leaving lying around her cage for the last month and early indications are good! Like you Jill, I'm dead worried that she won't want it on - She was out a lot last year. Fingers crossed for us!
21. This is excellent news Dee - I'm so excited for you!!! Can't wait till Kopi comes home and we can hear all about him, and maybe see some pics with his new Mom!! xx
22. Gulp - I'd be more inclined to hide, shaking under a rug on the back seat until I was rescued! But if I have to choose, I'd say...walk to a telephone box! You're dinner party guests are due to arrive and you burn the meal beyond saving. Do you A - Own it and order take away? B - Start again and make them wait?

Post edited by: pearllyn, at: 2010/03/04 11:24
