That is so cute - Loved it! -
That is so CUTE! Loved it - Thanks! :cheer:

That is wonderful, I too have been saying it to mine for oh, about a year now and no response! All Bingo will say at night is "nighty night". I'm still waiting - you know most men take longer to say things like that than most women. LOL

I have a little cage that fits in my shower and that is the ONLY way Bingo can get a good bath. At first I was afraid he would try to fly around, but he just sits on the perch until it is over. Good Luck!

After much convincing and promise of treats, Bingo is finally helping me with the housework!

When I adopted Bingo (CAG), I was told that he had busted open the skin over his keel? bone on his chest three different times over his 8 years. His wings were clipped when I got him, but now is fully flighted. I do worry about him flying out the door, but love to see him fly. We are very careful about doors, so I think we will not clip his wings anymore. Thank God this has not happened since we have had him because I would have a fit if he were to hit the floor and bust his chest open again. Maybe he had an improper wing clip and was un-balanced, but just to let you know what can happen.

I just went in and read Buds story - but then went to the adoption story page - WOW - These people seem to really care about who gets these birds. I read some great stories on birds who have found great homes. I'll bet they will find a wonderful home for Bud soon.

Welcome annmarie - I know how excited you must be!! I have an 8 yr old CAG that owns me, I mean that I own :cheer: They are alot of fun and alot of work too, but all worth it. I have a flock of 5 (Amazon, Eclectus, Cockateil)and each one has such different personalities. We enjoy them all, but my CAG is my baby. We have had him almost a year and he is just warming up to my 27 year old son. I have never gotten a baby, so might be different as far as adjusting to things. My Bingo is very cautious about anyone and anything new. Good luck and can't wait to hear more.

Thanks everyone! Well, it has been a week since Scarlet came home- she still does not want to come out of the cage. She bit HARD (with blood) one day last week, so I would try to get her to step up, but if she didn't want to, I didn't push it! But, yesterday, I was determined to hold her and put on an oven mit and she stepped right up. I held her for awhile and we went on the porch and enjoyed the 80 degree weather we had yesterday. I think she is more empressed with Rainbow than he with her though. I put Rainbow on the play tree near her cage and she just bounced up and down on the perch and swayed side to side. Rainbow would look and then just play with a toy. Can't wait to actually put them on a perch together and see what happens. I appreciate all of the advice from everyone. Will keep you posted.

I really didn't know Rainbow had such a long neck - cause he sure has been stretching it trying to catch a peek! We did take her out tonight and let him see her from a distance, he was bobbing his head and doing the ole' figure 8. It was so funny. Will have to get out the video camera later when we finally put them on a perch or something together!

Well, went to see Scarlett yesterday and I guess you can see the results! She is just beautiful - Rainbow can see her from his cage and just kept looking and looking. I had to get her a new cage though, had hoped to just use the one she had, but it was terrible! Held her a couple of times yesterday - no attempts to bite, but later she just didn't want to be bothered. We just left the door open, but she never came out. Seems like a sweet girl. I know it will take her a while to adjust.

Thanks so much! A female. She is approx 4 yrs old. I know that I should quarantine, but for how long? I will watch the weight. Oh, I loved the pic you posted of yourself the other day

Thanks Judygram - I have been going over this in my mind all night - am supposed to go and see her tomorrow. There are so many "ifs" here. Do I need another bird- Nooooo - , could I love another - Yes, of course. I guess worst case, if they completly hate each other, we will just have 5 birds and Rainbow will still snip off feathers.
-
How sweet is that! Congrats to you! Don't forget to keep us posted!:cheer: She/he is beautiful!

We have a wonderful and sweet Eclectus named Rainbow that we have had since September. His previous family did not have time for him anymore and he had started to bite his feathers off in sections. Since we have had him, we have tried alot of different things to see if he would stop and I think he is doing a little bit better, but hasn't stopped completely. Today, I received a phone call about a female Eclectus that needs a new home. Does anyone know if a companion for Rainbow might make a difference in his barbing his feathers? I don't know how easy he would be to accept a female or even if they would become friends, or if it is just a dumb idea. I am not interested in breeding or anything like that. Of course, we would fall in love with her I'm sure, just like with our others, but just wanted to see if anyone had any experience in this.

Of course! He was so funny, kept taking his beak and touching her on the screen. Just had to share!

Sounds like a deal! Maybe they will have it at the bird mart!

Has anyone tried the Harrison's Bird Bread yet? Just wondering what everyone thought about it. I make birdie muffins for all of mine, but thought this might be better.

Just wanted to let you all know that I sent my check off last Friday and he called us to say he was shipping out on Monday (3/15). Told us how to handle them after we received them. A SUPER nice guy. Thanks so much for finding out about him.:cheer:
