  1. LOL!!!Those are not my hands!! they are shanes!! But mine are not scratched either!! I have no idea why though!
  2. Awww that sounds so scary!!! Im sure she is fine though, they usually get over things good. I think sometimes it shakes us up more than them. I had a similiar experience with a budgie of mine, he jumped on the quaker cage when I turned my back and he almost lost his toe!! That little guy bleed a lot!!! He got all weak and I thought I was going to lose him....but with some fast thinking and home remedies he made it!! There was no avian vet open!! I almost fainted!
  3. COngrats! He could be just making noises he learned. I dont think they actually cough when they are sick...but the tail thing im unsure about. Good luck!
  4. There are a few members that travel with them! Judy does sometimes, I think. I think Bmustee brings elmo to work sometimes, though Im not 100% sure!! The cage I use is similiar to this one, I know its at least the same size if not a bit bigger. http://www.parrotsupercenter.com/Products/Bird_Cages/Avian_Adventures/Grande-playtop-product.htm
  5. Awwww congrats!!! What a great story!!! I think for me it was just the day I got her, I never thought I would have a grey!! I always tried and tried to save for one but then something would come up and I would need to use the money!! So the day I meet her and brought her home...was the best day of my life!! I was so happy and she steeped up as soon as I got to her old house too!!! She not only was the grey I had always wanted but IMO the best match too!!!
  6. *nudge* I also would love to see the pictures!! Bring em on!! LOL
  7. LOL!! ok I thought so.....
  8. Oh boy....Fawkes not only knows how to unlatch her door, food and water doors etc. But she has figured out MANY kinds of locks, clips...etc. So my guess is sje did it herself!! LOL
  9. she isnt 8 years old? Or did you mean she is now 8 years old? Sorry just confused:blink:
  10. Welcome!! you came to the right place for advice!! I however have never dealt with a baby grey, so im not much help there!!But there are plenty of others that have!!!
  11. How cute!!!! What a big boy he is getting to be!!!
  12. oh thats a good price! And a breeder you trust and know!!! Sounds like this is the bird for you!!
  13. Oh yes they are messy...but so are the finches! I guess it is possible that some would have problems but those 2 people I know that have them together, love them being together and have never had any problems at all. I would assume it depends on each individual bird though, since you honestly never do know if they will take to eachother!! But if the Cage is large enough and they can get their flight time, It should work out fine.
  14. WOW!!!! Very pretty, I can see why you love them!! Thanks for the pictures, I just love them!!
  15. Thanks for the info on splits Tari!! The pair she has is split...not sure to what extent. But I decided to get a sun/jenday baby instead from the same lady!!! I just love the conures!!!
  16. Berna, you can keep Diamond doves and finches together and they actually get along just wonderful!! People always say the finches will pick any other birds...not true. I have my canaries and finches together, they are fine. Also Macawlover(emily) runs a couple aviaries and they have diamond doves, finches, canaries, and even button quail. They all get along splendid. Also MissMarley has finches and Diamond doves together in a large cage and has never had a problem with them fighting. Macawlovers finches also breed succesfully, and so do the doves. So I say go for it!!!
  17. Im glad you were able to order him some Harrisons!! Im sure he will love it!!
  18. Oh yeah!! You are right there Judy!!! LMAO!! She only does that one for the camera though!! What a character!!! Not only does she make the "fart" noise she laughs about it afterwards!!!
  19. Good advice everyone!!! I also pull my eggs after 28 or 29 days....I actually had one hatch on the 29th day once!! I was shocked!! It was a lovebird egg not a grey egg, but I was going to get it out and there was another baby in the box!! LOL! But since there is no chance of your being fertile, 28 days is perfect!!! Welcome to the forums!!
  20. Oh boy Fawkes, wheezes, sneezes, snorts, blushes, burps, coughes, makes a blowing her nose noise, and gags!!! Oh man the sounds she picks up!! It is all normal...they must find all those noises amusing!! LOL
  21. Tari, You are doing just fine with your grey and some just dont talk as much. They say that you can always hope a bird will pick up the human language but not all will. For instance even finches CAN talk....mine don't. I have several birds...I believe I have like 20-23 of them, I do feel confident that they get enough time spent with them and I do my best with them everyday. I think you do too!! Amazons are also supposed to be wonderful talkers, I have 2 and one talks then my red-lored doesnt....he only makes these tiny little chortle noises. So its just the birds will really, it may not have anything to do with how much time you spend with them or anything. Certainly Que is just as smart as other birds....in fact hes showing just how cunning he is!! Hes showing you that, Hey you know I can talk but I CHOOSE not to! LOL!! How long have you had him> Did you get him as a baby?
  22. Im in the us...but im sure you could order them from the actual Harrisons website!! Check it out!!
  23. We live in a duplex and we made a spot for our garden....more to piss off the downstairs neighbors than anything!!! LOL!! No but we love fressh veggies and fruit, and we eat everything that we get out of it!! What we cant finish the Fids get! I love it and it gives me and the dog an excuse to get outside!
  24. Its kind of cool to hear where everybody is from!!! Karma to wendy for the great thread!!{Feel-good-000200BB}
