Welcome to the forum Jill and Oliver. That's a lovely pic of Oliver, he's quite a handsome fella. I hope to hear more from you soon about him and his adventures (he has to have some stories being a grey!)

He looks like a happy healthy grey to me. It may be because it just makes him a little itchy when you pet him, like a tickle?

You have fun Dan, you really do deserve it. I'm sure Dayo is having a great time with his daddy home to play. We are having freezing temps here and I'm not enjoying it too terribly much. I've got all my presents ready and just a couple left to wrap but then I need to start baking and make some goodies for x-mas. You guys put a smile on my face this morning reading this. Seems greys are the same everywhere- helpful to the point of utter unhelpfulness! Wishing you all the joys of the holidays and much fun with your fids this Christmas.

Seems to me like everything made specifically for parrots has an extra $ tacked on.... I don't understand it but people must think if you have a bird then you have extra cash to spend. I wish it was easier to come by this wood and easier to find time to make one myself. Good luck to all of you in your quest! Hope Christmas morning brings all the little fids what they've been wishing for...

Please don't feel bad about wanting to find a new home for your grey. I commend you for doing the right thing and realizing it is in Tango's best interest to find him a new home. Greys are such a big responsibility and demand a lot of attention to keep them happy. I truly hope that Tango finds the right forever home and that all of you will be happy in the future. So sorry to hear you are struggling so much with Shadow. Greys can certainly be trying and I think their intelligence has a lot to do with that. I think they get bored easily and figure out what pushes your buttons and don't forget it either. As far as the problems you are having with getting Shadow to eat- have you tried eating along with him? Trying making up a big dish of brown rice with whatever veggies you fancy. Sit down with Shadow and eat it right in front of him. Let him come up to the plate and try some if he likes. This is what I had to finally resort to with Lyric. He was my first baby grey that I handfed and I had a heck of a time getting him weaned. I think they learn best from watching the members of their flock- if he sees you eating something maybe he will catch on. I know you will make the right decision for both you and Shadow (regarding rehoming him) - I wish you both peace and happiness in your lives.

I cook for Lyric every day too, he is one very spoiled birdie. He gets fed better than me and my boyfriend. Glad to hear you are having fun with Eddie.

That's really a great idea, why didn't I think of it?? You are recycling, helping the wild critters and having fun doing it too. Do the wild birds eat pellets or are you giving them leftover seeds?
